The ego and its own

Is this book worth it? And is there any translations to avoid. What is the best translation?

If you don't learn the original language and read it yourself you are just submitting to the authority if someone else's mind. You will only be reading their bias and manipulation. The true individual does not need others of authority to interpret anything for him.

>implying the true individual would bow to the arbitrary conventions of language invented by others
You fucking casuals disgust me.

>Is this book worth it?
Given that its free, yes it is worth it

>nd is there any translations to avoid. What is the best translation?

Thought that might change currently there is only one translation

Can you read it in modern german or do you need to learn a older form of german to read it?

You are being memed by that poster user

I know but this is a genuine question I have I just saw a opportunity to ask it

Just read any translation OP, the book is a pile of shit anyway. I actually haven't read him, but some anarchists seem to like it and thus it must be shit.

My professor did his master's thesis on Stirner.
Should I read it?
Do you need to learn an older form of English to read Hume?

Most likley not given that it was written in 1841

>My professor did his master's thesis on Stirner.

Link or title of the thesis?

Worth the read for sure, just read the only english translation

A nice copy is available here.

>Link or title of the thesis?
I'd pretty much have to give up my identity to do that.

>I'd pretty much have to give up my identity to do that.

Is he that niche of a professor and is the paper that new?

Unfortuante as that is can you at least tell me without using his words what it looks at or compares with Stirner?

No, the paper is over 30 years old. The scan of the thesis just only belongs to the handful of students he's given it to over the years.
He emailed it to me and five or six others last week, out of the blue. Meaning, five or six people with knowledge of the thesis have not read it.

I'm already saying too much, I know at least one of them does on /a/, which could also mean they go on Veeky Forums. Then I'm spotted.
I've had to change the way I write twice before to hide my advanced shitposting techniques.

>the paper is over 30 years old

Thats alright then, if its that old Ive probably already got access to it.

I can delete my posts of yours if it will make you feel more comfortable

It's only in two libraries in the world. It has 8 views on academia.edu.
You have access to it, but you won't find it. He's embarrassed by it anyway, he was one of those anarchists in the 80s.
I'll read it this summer.

nah

Wait wait, hang on.

>reading the work of a (spooky) philosopher
>worried about "submitting to the authority of someone else's mind"

There's some good bait on here tonight.

>he was one of those anarchists in the 80s.

This might console and give him a laugh, one of the professors my my university was a Maoist during the 70s and quit his job so he could work at a car factory and "raise revolutionary consciousness" among the proles.

He rants about religion for way too long. He makes weird racist generalizations.

It's a fun read though, his style is like an overexcited autistic trying to explain 4 different thoughts at once.

Fucking Christ. At least he did something, I guess.

Who cares.

Garbage work from a irrelevant philosopher. Do not fall for a meme.

Its Lawrence Stepelevich isnt it,

Leak it and link it.

Nobody will know it was you.

Franco here, should I read it in French or in English?

I never know in which language between the two I should read an German book.

>inb4 frogs

I do.
Nope
