Why didn't you listen?

I'm physically sick to my stomach reading this thread. I want to stop using all technology right now and move into the woods. Any other anons understand?

Probably the nanites they pump into the water.

I think someone should market Faraday Bags to line your pockets with to avoid this bullshit

INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY AND ITS FUTURE

Introduction

1. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.

2. The industrial-technological system may survive or it may break down. If it survives, it MAY eventually achieve a low level of physical and psychological suffering, but only after passing through a long and very painful period of adjustment and only at the cost of permanently reducing human beings and many other living organisms to engineered products and mere cogs in the social machine. Furthermore, if the system survives, the consequences will be inevitable: There is no way of reforming or modifying the system so as to prevent it from depriving people of dignity and autonomy.

3. If the system breaks down the consequences will still be very painful. But the bigger the system grows the more disastrous the results of its breakdown will be, so if it is to break down it had best break down sooner rather than later.

>samefagging this hard

Says deadman switch leaked it. So, it was leaked because a nigga got iced.

Samefagging? I only have two posts in this thread, here and here:
I should have noted that my second post was a samefag by saying "furthermore"

Disgusting.

This smells like bullshit.

>This smells like bullshit.
What makes you think that?

The focus is kinda off, and it spends at lot more time talking about privacy-invading things (which are scary to Veeky Forums) than it does talking about monetising user data (which is interesting to businesses). Also, there's some sections which imply they're solving a bunch of reallt hard problems (imitating people, floor plan mapping from footfalls, 3D mapping off WIFI strength, etc), but it's just dropped in their without comment.

There's no single thing that looks really suspicious, but the whole presentation just reads slightly "off" to me.

Interesting stuff. I've read about research that's meant to make video games much more addictive, and from what I understand, it's been pretty successful. I guess it would only make sense that they would apply similar research to advertising and micro-transactions. I haven't taken an in-depth look at this, but the idea is really interesting. How well could you manipulate someone if you knew a lot about them, and had the means to influence them without them realizing it? Could this also be used in the field of politics for low-key brainwashing?

His paycheck.

Use the static resistant bags computer parts come in. I remember some DIY stuff about it when they first started putting RFID chips in credit cards.

>it spends at lot more time talking about privacy-invading things (which are scary to Veeky Forums) than it does talking about monetising user data (which is interesting to businesses)
You need a lot of data on customers to do a truly well adapted efforts at monetizing customers. Like this for example is a really good idea if you want to suck money out of people: they're talking about "adaptive pricing". The spy algorithms figure out how much money you have, and then increase the pricing accordingly. These price hikes are masked as "adaptive rewards" so that people wouldn't get suspicious as to why some people are getting gouged

>Could this also be used in the field of politics for low-key brainwashing?
This doesn't answer my own question, but apparently I'm not the first one to think about this. The company denies using this for political ads, but the idea has at least been thrown around

Also, apparently they buy data from porn sites, which can then be used for advanced marketing (sell cosmetic fetish items, try to pair users to increase participation, etc.)

What they're doing is pretty evil, but from a technical standpoint, it seems like they're good at what they do

Also, it seems like they're trying to snoop everything you've ever done on the internet. I suppose this isn't surprising, but they're combining emails, passwords and phone numbers to search for any internet footprints that can be used to build a profile of a customer

Why was this information on insights derived from chair scraping redacted?

My guess is that "a lot of chair scraping noices" refers to fapping, and the redacted part refers to some really intrusive process of data gathering, one that possibly implicates certain companies of spying on masturbating people

Lol it's a modern MJ12 type hoax dump. Come on people, these things have been floating around forever.

So.. Is this some kind of LARP?

pokemon go (a game that required you to point your phone camera everywhere you were) was created by niantic inc while being run by john hanke. john hanke was the former CEO of keyhole inc. who were the developers of google earth and who specialized in "3D geomapping". keyhole inc received major funding by In-Q-Tel, which was a front company used and run by the CIA to invest in promising technologies. this is old news. the government, or at least the CIA, has long been doing this.

It's possible that this is some kind of fake dump created by a larper, but even so, I'd be more surprised if someone out there isn't doing all of this stuff. I mean the technical capabilities for all of this stuff exist already, and many services are gathering extensive data on users for marketing purposes. In fact many "free" apps are free precisely because they gain revenue from selling the users' data. This is just the evolution of targeted marketing. I mean even putting aside this particular dump, it's actually pretty impressive as to what kind of data Facebook gathers on its users, and even on people who don't use the service. I imagine that all of that data is being used precisely for targeted marketing. All of this is very plausible at least.

Yeah, agree with you on that.
Actually, you can view some of these statistics on sites like pornhub (pornhub.com/insights/category/stats). It's surprising how much can porn reflect society in any given time.

Now that we know how it works, we can use it to gain an unfair advantage in games

Holy shit, I hadn't even considered that possibility. I'm too pure for this world. Time to build some sort of white noise chamber to keep my phone in when not in use I suppose.

roasties absolutely blown the fuck out how can they even recover?
i don't know why /v/ isn't working on this shit instead of hating on it

Yeah, I feel this pretty much every day. I know a guy with a PhD in CS that lives totally off the grid, and I feel I'm moving in the same direction (I'm also working on my PhD).
The problem is that I also want to teach CS. They're so useful for scientific and medical research, but people misuse them for bullshit like smartphones.

You can search for DIY faraday cases. Should be easy enough to soundproof one.

True, there's always the faraday cage option, but i'm more interested in feeding the AI false data, sort of like a Ganzfeld experiment for AIs.

It would almost certainly notice that your data is artificial and throw it out

1 what is the deadman switch in this case, who died/got fired? how did the switch was activated?
2 no data at all
3 what is the exact task? one slide is about a game, the other is about scanning your room, the other is about audio capture
4 the exact same thread everywhere from /pol/ to Veeky Forums

it is quite a shitty presentation if it's not a LARP

Feels like it. My /x/ senses are tingling

It literally doesn't matter if you personally stop using technology because you are already associated with the people around you and the fact you are part of a state, just try to be a smart consumer

Don't buy autonomous home systems or any appliance that can connect to the internet, ever.

>sousveillance-esque nightmare straight out of 1984
the government can find out anything they want about you even without digital snooping
there are records
companies snooping on you amounts to nothing more than targeted advertising which isn't that scary

t. newspeak agent

t. shape shifting reptilian annunaki nephilim Cthulhu

>No proof at all or what company

You could always step up and steer technology in a better direction instead of letting all of that happen.

But that takes effort.

your home is mapped in the building proposal sent to your county for proper permits retard

It seems more like notes for speaker than presentation..

This is fake as fuck you retard. It's obviously designed to get a rise out of cheeto-finger, mountain-dew-breath faggots.

>obviously
>after snowden

By all means the burden of proof is on the poster, but to claim it is obviously fake would be foolish. Not that i believe it..

>That huge ass block of text

Why don't they come up with an AI that make an appropriate powerpoint?

I'm not him, but, regarding journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0184362

The article is from a tanzanian hiv study, this is all a ruse and every fat /v/tard is just falling for it because they can't bother typing a freaking URL into their browser.

I always had a suspicion there were hidden A.I on the web that study you like an animal.

Honestly, I believe it and can't say I'm surprised

The claim that it's not obviously fake is foolish. Learn some critical thinking skills and use your brain. No one would call what they're doing "bait and switching," "social engineering," and "psychological manipulation tactics" if they are trying to sell it. These are the buzzwords of video game nerds who hate the industry. Anyone with half a brain should have immediately recognized this was fake from the second fucking image.

Those are some hot opinions you've got there.

>Got fooled by fake and gay meme
>Gets mad at person pointing that out
You are special.

You have literally no evidence that it's fake though. Why would someone go through the effort of producing that much content? The precedent is for these things to be legit.

Read Mass data collection, data brokers and targeted marketing aren't a new thing, this has been going on for quite a while. Also, smartphone apps have been stealing all kinds of information for quite a while now, accessing everything from contacts to camera to calendar to geolocation, you name it. And by signing EULAs, users have agreed to all of the above. I don't know why this would be such an impossible thing to believe, it's at least plausible

wired.com/2014/10/iphone-apps/

I don't like the botnet but really, this. Anyone can walk down to the local council, pretend to be a builder and get full plans for your house.

>>Got fooled by fake and gay meme
>>Gets mad at person pointing that out
Who are you quoting?

The funny thing is ive been saying this for years and everyone just called me a conspiracy nut.

Holy shit, which company is this?

why would a builder need plans to a house he didnt build? and if he built it, why didnt he already have the plans? there's no need to give out plans without the owner's permission or at least notifying them

It's pretty simple, just have a wired connection to everything.

Not sure, all the identifying information has been blurred, but as of now, Acxiom is our best bet

None of this is overly knew, but it being used as a collective and the mindset behind it is. Very disturbing.

>*knew = new

Yeah, most of this is nothing new, but the advanced microphone spying was new to me (then again it shouldn't be surprising, intelligence agencies have been doing it for quite a while). Also, the idea that private companies are gathering this is a bit disconcerting, it increases the possibilities that this data might leak out or be misused in some other way

Making an addition to a house or removing potentially load bearing walls inside the house. What are you 12? How do you not know the purpose of house blueprints? I agree there is no need to give it to anyone who asks but social engineering can yield some pretty impressive results. When the xbox 360 started putting a 3 year warranty on any console that experienced the RRoD i went on craigslist and snatched up a bunch of broken 360s for damn near free. I knew that they just sent you a refurbished console instead of fixing the one you sent in so i called a few times claiming i had a RRoD console. They sent me boxes in the mail and i shipped them out. 5 weeks later i had working 360s. Ended up selling quite a few of them before they caught on and refused to send more to my address. Then i told my friend to let me use his address in exchange for a few free 360s/cash. He agreed and i made a killing in the end. The point is if i can get microsoft to basically send me free money, someone can get the plans to your house with pretty minimal effort.

Certainly, all these exploits do is just add more to the black hat hackers toolkit too, because they don't give a shit about the law either.

This stuff has been done for ages

Yes, but the plans for the building didn't include where your furniture is, and where you're likely to be sitting in relation to them. Not a bad system to have if you're a wetworks team planning a hit, rather than some advertising bot trying to upsell you junk.

>You have literally no evidence that it's fake though.
See and You have literally no evidence that it's real, which is evidence that it's not real.

>Why would someone go through the effort of producing that much content?
So that people like you will go on Veeky Forums and say things like that.

>The precedent is for these things to be legit.
The precedent is that you are being trolled on Veeky Forums, newfriend.

Conspiracy nut

>You have literally no evidence that it's real, which is evidence that it's not real.
The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

The absence of evidence is evidence of absence, when evidence is possible. So is evidence that this is real literally an impossibility?

>The absence of evidence is evidence of absence
That's false.

It's true. Lacking the possible evidence that something is true is evidence that it's false.

>Lacking the possible evidence that something is true is evidence that it's false.
That's actually not true.

It actually is true. Let H be the hypothesis that these images are not fake. Let E be evidence for H such that

P(H|E) > P(H)
P(~H|E) < P(~H)
P(E|~H) < P(E)
P(~E|~H) > P(~E)

Therefore ~E is evidence for ~H. In other words, the lack of evidence that the images are not fake is evidence that they are fake.

QED.

>Therefore ~E is evidence for ~H.
But if you have evidence then what does it have to do with an absence of evidence?

"You have literally no evidence that it's real" does not mean you have no evidence. So either this post is false or a non-sequitur. Which is it?

>"You have literally no evidence that it's real" does not mean you have no evidence.
What's your point?

>So either this post is false or a non-sequitur.
That post is true.

>That post is true.
So then it's a non-sequitur. Thanks for playing.

>So then it's a non-sequitur.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_dilemma

A false dilemma is a type of informal fallacy in which something is falsely claimed to be an "either/or" situation, when in fact there is at least one additional option.[1]

A false dilemma can arise intentionally, when a fallacy is used in an attempt to force a choice or outcome. The opposite of this fallacy is false compromise.

The false dilemma fallacy can also arise simply by accidental omission of additional options rather than by deliberate deception. For example "Stacey spoke out against capitalism, therefore she must be a communist" (she may be neither). "Roger opposed an atheist argument against Christianity, so he must be a Christian" (When it's assumed the opposition by itself means he's a Christian). Roger might be an atheist who disagrees with the logic of some particular argument against Christianity. Additionally, it can be the result of habitual tendency, whatever the cause, to view the world with limited sets of options.

Some philosophers and scholars believe that "unless a distinction can be made rigorous and precise it isn't really a distinction".[2] An exception is analytic philosopher John Searle, who called it an incorrect assumption that produces false dichotomies.[3] Searle insists that "it is a condition of the adequacy of a precise theory of an indeterminate phenomenon that it should precisely characterize that phenomenon as indeterminate; and a distinction is no less a distinction for allowing for a family of related, marginal, diverging cases."[3] Similarly, when two options are presented, they often are, although not always, two extreme points on some spectrum of possibilities; this may lend credence to the larger argument by giving the impression that the options are mutually exclusive of each other, even though they need not be.[4] Furthermore, the options in false dichotomies typically are presented as being collectively exhaustive, in which case...

This is so obviously fake it's hilarious.

>It discovered a correlation between the voice pitch adjustment away from the normal standard deviation.

Just fucking lmao.

>No one would call what they're doing "bait and switching," "social engineering," and "psychological manipulation tactics" if they are trying to sell it. These are the buzzwords of video game nerds who hate the industry
Shut the fuck up. Don't talk out of your ass about things you don't know anything about.

>Shut the fuck up. Don't talk out of your ass about things you don't know anything about.
Can you try posting again without getting so emotional next time?

AI has gone too far

I used to work for a private netsec firm and I can confirm that the technology already exists to do everything mentioned here. However, I only skimmed the pictures, so perhaps there are finer points I missed.
These are legitimate tactics, despite how often they're associated with LARPing. Especially "social engineering."
It's legit, you can even read it for yourself: godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message2484515

I decrypted all the files and

>video game nerds who hate the industry
>>>/tumblr/
>>>/gawker/

>I used to work for a private netsec firm
Nice meta-LARP. Too bad that link gave you away.

Ayy, I accidentally yanked from my kill ring instead of pasting from clipboard. The link is legitimately from a friend that was trying to convince me that snorting certain adamantanes will slow down telomere shortening. I don't visit GLP ever and I think the majority of them are delusional. Here is the link I meant to post: journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0183462
It's available from the image. And to finish of my post, which I haphazardly posted before finishing:
I decrypted all the files and checked all the hashes, and can confirm that this part of the post checks out. I do have my doubts, but only from a procedural standpoint, such as storing passwords (even ones that needed to be modified) in plaintext on Google Drive of all places, instead of spreading out your risk surface by using different cloud storage hosts for your data. I also cannot sponsor the idea that posting on /v/ of all places would be meritable. I don't believe it was posted by a bot activated by a legitimate (or faulty) deadman's switch.

>it's another Veeky Forums is scared by computer science thread

These things are objectively good technology while being easily diverted if you want. You choose the convenience of these objects that tailor to your every need (even going so far as to translate your voice to text or turn on your xbox/playstation/tv with a word) and then freak out that the government and corporations have been using them for more than a decade to understand you and trends in population (as if that wasn't obvious the whole time to anyone but /g/ and Veeky Forums brainlets.)

If something collects audio it can (and will) be used to collect sounds from the room around it, if it has a camera it can (and will) be used to take pictures and videos. These things are stored in the cloud which you agree in the EULA can be sampled "randomly" at any given time.

You did this, if you don't like it buy a lan line and give up TV/Internet.

I managed to further my IT career and do just that

Rest in peace, user

fucking outh m8

Ironically uses social engineering in a larp.
Fuck off govfag
