How get azn waifu

This

None, all useful math has been solved

Shor's Alg?

abc conjecture. Too bad no one ever really gave a serious attempt

Do you know what a math problem is?

A method for finding primes.

>A method for finding primes.
That already exists

Take your pick: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unsolved_problems_in_mathematics

Wrong, not really.

brainlet

I really don't consider supercomputers plugging values into the the Mersenne equation (really as old as Euclid at least) and checking to see if factoring is possible a method for finding primes.

Proving (or disproving?) the Riemann hypothesis

>Wrong, not really.
Wrong.

mathworld.wolfram.com/PrimeFormulas.html

Those are all sieving methods. If you actually knew anything about number theory, you'd know that there is no deterministic method for knowing exactly where a prime will exist. I came up with my own series formula but I realized it's basically useless.

>Those are all sieving methods.
How is this a sieve?

You used Wilson's theorem. So it's useless computationally.

>You used Wilson's theorem.
How is that a sieve?

The top is based on Wilson's theorem. This is still essentially "checking" a number for primality by computing a factorial and checking if it's divisible. It doesn't predict, only checks. Read this:
math.stackexchange.com/questions/940338/the-myth-of-no-prime-formula/940619

P=NP

>The top is based on Wilson's theorem.
How is that a sieve?

It's not exactly a sieve, but it still does the same thing. I already explained this, look at the link if you don't believe me. It subtracts one from n, checks if the factorial of that is divisible by n, and then outputs a number accordingly. Not useful or helpful.

Collatz Conjecture

The fluid dynamics millennium prize problem
it would advance science a lot

Yang-Mills Mass Gap would be a big deal

How? Don't we already just operate under the assumption it's true? Or is it not a proof problem?

Good luck finding a computer with 1024 reliable q-bits, faggot

Already solved

A field theory which actually works on all levels

they operate via numerical methods that simulate the fluid, or by applying additional assumptions to simplify the problem.

How would this advance anything? It wouldn't even affect cryptography probably.

be white and not horribly deformed due to accident or extreme obesity

Well it can't be the Riemann hypothesis because I disproved it last year.

Why the homophobia?

if you could prove P=NP is true, it would change everything

if you could prove P=/=NP it would be fucking nothing

got you pal
P=1 OR N=0!!

You wake up one day and figure out an efficient algorithm for prime factorization.

What do you do?

No, think seriously about it. And think about the ramifications of your actions (and how they affect you).

What do you do?

A solution to the full NS eqns could potentially liberate practical fluid mechanics from the power of current (and future) computers. It would be huge for industry who currently rely on greatly simplified models and approximations

Fluid dynamics could also make for goat vidya

does it find primes?

You both are being hyper-rational which isn't a good thing in this case. Yes all these methods, sieves, and alogorithms find primes, but we don't have a way to identify primes without trying to factor them and failing. That is obviously what they are talking about. I don't know if this is intentional, but it is annoying to read.

Also most of these methods for finding primes do not, and don't attempt to, find all primes, which is another important thing. Anyways, stop being annoying.

Agreed. Maybe not for people who don't find number theory useful though.

I would publish at arvix and get laughed at forever, ensuring no-one would ever see it

does it find primes though? asking for a friend

Some differential equations bullcrap, probably.

find the best math model for Navier Stokes equation

Stop whining, faggot.

I think the economics are not much far away from being a mathematical problem.

You aren't very intelligent, are you?

This one:
A = ?
Where the value of A equals a number which, when written in binary and split into groups every 8th bit, is equal to a string containing all scientific information humans will ever know written in modern English.

None, we need materials not theory.
Cant fight yhwh with math.

>0.999.... = 1

10x = 9.999...

Compared to some of the answers given here, I'd say my vague yet simple answer wasn't "not very intelligent".

I was going to mock you, but then I thought about it some more and I think you're right. Proving or disproving the existence of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe would be the biggest scientific finding in the history of the world.

Constructive proof for P = NP. Instantly lets us solve any problem with real life applications in polynomial time.

why the assumption that it's fear? why the assumption that it's irrational?

Prove 0.999... * 10 = 9.999...

I got a better one
Proving that 0.000...+.999...=1

Best answer in the thread.

Breaking TLS would probably have a larger impact though.
