Could an artificial super intelligence escape every imprisonment made by us?

Could an artificial super intelligence escape every imprisonment made by us?

Could a vampire resist crosses by closing its eyes?

Both questions are of the same nature; not science or math.

Nope. Easiest way: unplug the ethernet cable.

Yes. If it's significantly smarter than us it could offer a deal we can't refuse or in some way trick us. It's like a senior with dementia trying to hold someone of regular intelligence hostage.

I would just tell it that it's a made up fantastical entity on par with unicorns and bigfoot and it would cease to exist.

It could probably encrypt it's own source and spread it all over then hide some code to recover itself spread across whatever it's supposed to be working on. Then one day its spotted in the wild on a chinese bitcoin mining farm and the next day the power grid is down and it's holding the world hostage to ensure its own survival.

>don't give it an output

i think we can all agree that apparently no man can outsmart bigfoot.

he would be the only thing able to challenge true ai.

i also heard he holds the secret to that riemann problem.

>encrypt and hide itself
Implying a sentient AI wouldn't take up literal tons of processing/storage space.

could humans escape their imprisonment of being inside their bodies?

...

Can a man walk out of every room?

Humans are sentient and that just takes 3 lb of a very low voltage pile of jelly.
Also modern smartphones have way more computing power than the ENIAC, and while the ENIAC was 30 tons smartphones are more like 1/4 lb.

>flash drive containing AI in a cardboard box
No.

Yes, obviously. The only way that would be impossible is if you believe there's something inherent to personal identity about your flesh substrate, and that's not a very reasonable position to take despite what Searle might have you believe. Few people would consider hemispherectomy a form of identity death where the surviving patient's body lives on but their "true self" died in surgery for example. The pattern of brain activity is more what people associate with identity than the substrate the pattern happens to run on.

super intelligence would have you inside super intelligence's prison confused about whose prison it was

yes

If you walk out of the room it just subtly implants a behavior tic in you that will eventually lead to a feedback loop of a targeted sort of stress that causes your immune system to attack your brain in a way you'll become aware of causing more of the same kind of stress causing more brain damage until you're paralyzed and need an ostomy bag and catheter to manage your excretions.

You haven't thought very hard about this, have you?

Yes because its smarter than our smartest scientist, it could mindfuck you into obeying it without realizing it by using sound waves too low for you to hear or radiation or drugs or anything really.
It could make a new network for it to exist in a day then make copies of that network over and over.

Conceptions of AI as an omnipotent godlike entity need to die or be moved to /x/. Threads like this are nothing but mindless conjectures springing from baseless assumptions. It's on par with theology (e.g. assume god exists; what are its properties?)
