And yeah I can't focus or get motivated to do anything, even things I love. I can't study, write, play video games, etc. The only thing that seems fun is doing something active like playing basketball or something.

About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD and given Adderall, which worked wonders. I had to stop taking it for reasons, but now I'm able to go back on it. The only problem is, I looked up the doctor that prescribed it to me years ago and he has bad reviews (overall 2/5 stars). Should I be worried? What if he prescribed it to me just for the heck of it? He originally put me on Strattera but it didn't work, then changed it to Adderall. Without it, I don't know what to do with myself, but I'm still a little worried.

depression

go to a new psychiatrist.

this, seek help, it will change your life

But I don't feel depressed or anything. I just feel unmotivated. Yet for some reason I feel like being active. Like if someone called me and said "let's go play basketball/tennis/soccer" I'd be really excited.

depression

stop making excuses

I'm not making excuses, I'm saying I don't feel depressed. Read more carefully next time.

literally number one symptom is "unmotivated".

You have it senpai

either way, go to a psychiatrist. Even if you had nothing, we are unable to diagnose anything because chances are that none of us are qualified professionals.

I see. But then what would ADHD be? I get that it helps you focus, but when I was on Adderall years ago, that made me extremely motivated and I got a ton of shit done.

Yeah I plan on it. I just wanted Veeky Forums's opinion, that's all.

Depression is what making you not get a ton of shit done

>b-b-but im so happy and I go outside
yeah but you won't do anything that actually matters

Serious question I got prescribed adderall and the dosage is small. But some how I felt it working for 2 days. Is it because it's my first time?

Check the side effects of adderall, and then contact your doctor.

You don’t know what I’m saying. If depression is making me not get shit done, then how come Adderall, an ADHD medicine, makes me get shit done?

because the brain is a weird unexplored mess, and sometimes a medicine that doesn´t work on one person, ends up working in another person.

Does that mean Adderall can be used for depression? Seems weird but I don’t know.

you will develop tolerance, exponentially more if you increase the dose.

adderall can be prescribed for mild chronic depression but both adderall prescription and mild depression are some bigtime gray areas

I just started taking it and I don't think i'm close to being deppressed. But it seems to make my mood a lot happier. Maybe it's just being able to accomplish more things.

>I just started taking it . . . it seems to make my mood a lot happier

it'll do that, but be warned it will level off with regular use. it's a stimulant so it's an upper and has a comedown. if you feel rotten after using it for a bit, take a couple days off from it and lower your regular dose

OP here. When I was on Adderall years ago, I didn’t even take the full dose. It said I could take the capsule apart and pour it into applesauce. I poured like 1/3 of it or maybe a bit more, and I worked on homework from 4 PM to 3 AM. Either it works really well or I just had a large dose.

Maybe? i´m no doctor, but some drugs work different in some people.

stop watching porn

you fags need to build up your tolerance. I take a 25mg XR, sleep for 2 hours, and browse Veeky Forums in bed all day

Start with ritalin, right?

I'm pretty sure I have some kind of attention disorder but I just self medicate by taking caffeine and ephedrine pills 3 timer per day..

Sounds like you are lacking motivation.

ofcourse you did. you're human. and adderal is amphetamine.

dude. it's amphetamine. noradrenaline, serotonine and dopamine releasing agent (wich is like a super reuptake inhibitor). antidepressants are serotonine and sometimes dompamine and/or noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors. just do the frikkin math.

>then how come Adderall, an ADHD medicine, makes me get shit done
no shit!
it's fucking amphetamine. that's how.

and maybe it's just amphetamine

yes.
don't take it always/everyday. and enjoy the amphetamine to it's fullest potential while you can, when you REALLY need it.

have y'all never heard about speed??

sad for you. you're so tolerant you actually can't really enjoy the potential of the drug anymore.
and, what happens when you DON'T take it?? you get worse than you were before starting taking it.....

Go on youtube and watch lectures by Jordan Peterson (Clinical Psychologist and much hyped right wing shrink) specifically on motivation/self authoring ect. Buy/Pirate his latest book, and do the future authoring course on his website. It's basically just a way to make you motivated using evidence based methods that don't involve drugs. It seems silly but it works, and is proven to work. If you had true ADHD that required drugs you wouldn't even be able to play basketball you'd be such a clusterfuck.

Fish oil doesn't do anything either, there's no real studies on it, and even worse like only one company (NutriSea) is selling fish oil without a ton of PCBs and other pollutants in it.

this

also, just because it's sold in the pharmacy and the government aproves of it, doesn't mean it's not an abuse(able) hard drug. And just because it IS a hard drug, doesn't mean it can't be functionally used (in opposition to being recreatively abused).

Sort of like being drunk/high. I don't usually stay in bed after I take it, but I definitely don't always become productive

you don have to justify your sins for a fellow sinner.
just saying you should use your powerups wisely... or you won't have any when you really need them (you might have them, but they wont work. it's the same).
