How do you prepare pickles?

I honestly hate the one pickled with vinegar, reeks of mayonnaise. Is there another method?

Instead of calling you a retard, I'll give you some info, since I just learned this recently.

Not all pickles are "pickled." Some are fermented (using salt and water) which causes them to produce their own acid. And others are pickled, i.e. soaked in vinegar. Apparently the former has a lot of health benefits that the latter does not.

I think that's from using distilled white vinegar, if you used a raw vinegar that still has some live bacteria in it then you're getting similar benefits.

It's not as much about the presence of beneficial bacteria as them processing stuff, which does not happen if the brine is too acidic.
