>diversity hire >white dude who held everything together quits >replaced with more diversity >all whites and asaians eventually quit >culture diminishes and nobody of quality wants to work there anymore >parking lot is empty now
Why do restaurants do this again? I hate seeing a place I like go to the gutters
Adrian Rivera
How do you know if someone was a diversity hire?
Nolan Taylor
I don't like the term "diversity hire", you make it seem like only white people can be competent employees which is inherently racist, the old fashioned kind of racist, not the new wave internet kind where using black people emojis is racist.
Benjamin Nelson
>it's another /pol/ thread barely even attempting to appear on-topic Nazi Nazi go away, gas some Jews another day.
Charles Jenkins
>only white people can be competent Prove this statement wrong, newfags
Connor Campbell
Yeah, fuck minorities, am I right? Trump!
Kevin Adams
I work for the government, the one that institutes "preferential hiring" of minorities. They don't make it. The area I work in is very intensive about work quality and quantity and even though "they" get hired as often as quality varieties, they simply don't stick. Internet or Alabama racists, either, should see it here, they would cum their pants with validation.
Carter Thompson
when a colored person is hired instead of a more qualified white person because a successful team of white people running a business start feeling generous and want to look open minded by showing that they're dumb enough to hire a colored person and expect them to act like a white person even though there are no qualifications or reasons to believe that this is what will be the case and the odds being heavily against them. that's a diversity hire. as if diversity of fucking race was what makes a team strong instead of diversity of skills and perspectives. as if everyone being the same race in a workplace wouldn't actually make everyone more comfortable and team spirited.
if there's not some extenuating circumstance, there's no reason to go out on a limb and hire people that aren't going to fit into a workplace. there's just no disadvantages to a homogeneous team.
Tyler Wright
Not him but there's a difference between a diversity hire and hiring a black/asian/whatever person. There are incredibly talented and hardworking people in any race, and hiring them is no issue. It's when people get hired specifically because there's not enough black people/asians/whatever that people get unhappy. A diversity hire is a hire for diversity reasons, rather than just hiring the best person for the job and they happen to be black.
Nathaniel Sanchez
That doesn't answer the question of how you know whether someone was hired to "increase diversity", you just explained what a diversity hire is.
Isaac Garcia
Never seen this happen because I go to nice restaurants. I didn't even know diversity hires were a thing in restaurants.
Parker Howard
You can easily tell by the quality of work. For example at my local wal mart, when the sandwhiches are stocked, I always notice the asian women behind the counter. When the sandwhiches are near empty and unorganized, the counter usually has nogs
Carter White
are you telling us that you're incapable of even imagining the ability to discern someones intentions, and someones ability?
Jonathan Morris
So you know based on assumption then.
Brody Johnson
>see asian women >quality of work is neat >see diversity hires, a rotation of them because they don't last long >quality of work is messy >this has been going on for months
It really isn't hard to put 2 and 2 together user.
Austin Parker
Don't they get potential tax write-offs if they can prove that they have a diverse work place? I always figured they wouldn't be doing it unless money is involved. Claim benefits of hiring them and hope they quit soon.
Hudson Diaz
But how do you know they were hired for diversity? How do you know they weren't hired because they were willing to work for lower pay, or were able to work during hours that other employees couldn't, or through nepotism (which I agree is also wrong, but is a different issue entirely)?
Brayden Rodriguez
so let me guess, a black person puts a gun in your face and says give me your money while you're walking home from a movie at night in the city, and you'd think it was racist to assume he was mugging you.
it boggles my mind to imagine people this oblivious, that they can't read other peoples actions and behaviors and come to conclusions. because that's a basic people skill. basic human survival instinct kind of stuff.
Benjamin Reyes
>lower pay It's wal mart, it's fucking minimum wage retard >different hours My observation is always near lunch hour.
Quit making excuses and relying on fringe hyperboles. It really isn't hard to notice a pattern based on race and if you visit a place often, you will remember the employees
Lincoln Gutierrez
I don't know if it's relevant for this thread or not, but in places I have worked those questions area easily answered:
>lower pay Nope, pay there was flat. Everyone got paid the same.
>hours everyone works the same hours
>nepotism I don't think the openly racist white owners hired minorities due to nepotism. Possible? Sure. Likely? Not very.
Like the other user said, it's not hard to put 2 and 2 together.
Cooper Martin
Are you talking about Burger King?
Jaxon Wilson
daily reminder that Veeky Forums is a democratic socialist board and cheeto drumpfkins need to fuck off back to /pol/
#punchNazis
Parker Nelson
Maybe, I remember going there with a buy one get one free coupon and I still felt ripped off. The food was cold, food trays were overstuffed by the lazy staff. I never went to a Burger King in years because of this experience
David Cooper
If it's a company that has the potential to be under scrutiny by the lens of the government it's a good idea since they can get reamed in the was for potential discriminatory hiring practices. If course, there are ways around this, but it's hard and not worth the time when you can rotate out a steady stock of minorities instead.
Ryan Myers
>I suck at life so bad that my career is threatened by a Mexican who barely speaks English What did people like this think adulthood would be like? Genuinely curious.
Carson Parker
The avocado ponderer is still the most unsettling image I have ever seen on 4chins
Oliver Clark
Who are you quoting user? Nobody here made that assumption. This thread is talking about spending money at restaurants.
Jaxon Adams
>Nobody here made that assumption. OP pretty much did. Read between the lines, spergie.
Parker Scott

Working at mcDonalds must be back breaking

Spending money consistently at a local joint implies one already has a decent job and you're simply implying one's race which is quite racist.
Charles Scott

Elijah Stewart
>Spending money consistently at a local joint implies one already has a decent job Stop taking things so literally, spergie.
>>and you're simply implying one's race which is quite racist. It's not necessarily racist, it's statistically accurate to discuss Mexicans in the context of food workers. And even if user meant to be racist, are you seriously surprised about racism on Veeky Forums? Is this your first day here?
