Have to pay between $50,000 - $100,000 in tuition fees to get a shiny piece of paper at the end of 3 - 4 years

>have to pay between $50,000 - $100,000 in tuition fees to get a shiny piece of paper at the end of 3 - 4 years
>no guarantee you'll even get a good job after you graduate

Is university a ponzi scheme Veeky Forums?

maybe in america

>going to college for job training
>not going to learn

brainlet.

> going to college on a shooting range

>I observe that people with degrees make more money
>hey let's give everyone degrees!
boomers

>going to learn esoteric shit
>end up poor, jobless, homeless
>all that knowledge wastes away
the virgin """academic"""

>have to pay 0 euros in tuition fees to get a degree
>be guaranteed to get a well-paying job after graduation

Feels good to live in Europe.

This desu...
Government actually pays me so i could study.

Ponzi scheme is a specific definition that doesn't apply here, but yeah, it's a racket similar to serfdom.

you can call it some kind of scheme seeing how its hawked relentlessly to these poor kids to the point they have no fuckin clue about any other route they could take when they finally break down. speaking in terms of finances, a bad investment; spending that much money with no returns???? the worst investment you can ever make

it's a total fucking scam, you could buy a house with all that cash, just think about it.

How do I review papers, Veeky Forums? I've got to review one in 1000 words using LaTeX.

>socialist Europe subsidizes university with tax money
>all Europeans have a chance to go to university
>academic institutions are ridiculously left leaning
>socialist system indoctrinates new Marxists and the system is self perpetuating
Hmm you might wonder if there's an agenda behind this

How many legit Marxists do you think are on the planet at this moment

first, learn how to network and sneak into your craft, and then go to college to learn about it. its possible, you just need to know how to communicate and present yourself effectively.

america is a ponzi scheme

.. err .. like you usually do? Read the paper, highlight its flaws, praise the good bits, make suggestions, and then give the ole thumbs-up or thumbs-down?

For normies it is. This is proven by the need for loan forgiveness. It used to be that college degrees paid themselves back easily. That isn't the case because they aren't good deals for most. Your high school guidance counselor makes a shitty financial planner.

only if you go into a meme degree in a welfare country

the number of legit ones is small. but most liberals support Leftism without knowing that Leftism is their enemy, and Conservatism is their friend. hell, most leftists these days don't even know what Conservatism even stands for. They're afraid to even question Leftism for fear of retaliation.

I come from Scotland, where university is free. Not that I'm going. There are better things to do

I paid about 12,000 in tuition total going to a state school and earned about 5 times that much working as an EMT while in school. Now I have a job as a statistician in a hospital. College is only a scam if you're a loser.

>inb4 get out boomer
I graduated in 2016.

Where the fuck does an emt make $60k?

College is not a job training program you utilitarian zombie.

at My Parents Are Rich and Influential County
gosh user, if you knew a thing or two about THE REAL WORLD aside from your 4chins you'd know immediately

I made 60k in 4 and a half years. Less than 20k a year. I paid 12k for all of college. Just to clarify.

only if you get a degree

also
>not going to a community college for GE and prereqs
in CA (I believe) you have priority status ahead of uni transfers and everyone else if you are a CA CC student
and you can get guaranteed admission into all the UCs except UCLA and UCB. I think for those you need to join a
club.

*shitty degree

is it to get indoctrinated into your professor's political cult?

it's certainly not for learning. you have free access to everything you need to educate yourself.
college is a means to an end and that's it

>do it for free
yeah bro i got rent to pay

Sure, you'd like to believe that. My paycheck from my university disagrees with you though.

>doesn't have full scholarship
Brainlet

This is actually the smartest comment I ever read on Veeky Forums. Liberals and identity politics are ironically the biggest enemy of Leftists. You just see alot of liberals support leftism because they have no clue what it even is.

>europe is creating marxists waaaah
>well not really marxists but also not rednecks so I still get to cry communism

>Is university a ponzi scheme Veeky Forums?

it is today, yes... that's a long term warfare tactic.

At least you leave university in 3-4 years. In other countries it takes at least 5 years to get a STEM diploma.

Why is that? Euros don't even take GE classes at all.

>calls people brainlet while putting himself in horrible debt at the cost of learning something with no applicable use

You can go and be a tradesman if you want. You'll get paid to study for 4 years and make 100K plus a year when you finish if you want.

I did it. I regret it because it's fucking boring, hard work and you're surrounded by absolute cunts all day and work in shitty, dirty, conditions.

I made just over 80k as a night manager at a supermarket.

Like 65-70k U.S.

I'm sure an EMT would easily make that, right?

This

Stop doing meme degrees and learn something useful.

>Thinking that people who learn 'esoteric shit' are the ones not getting jobs.
It is the 2000 Bio students at every uni who complain about their degree being worthless.

>Stop doing meme degrees and learn something useful.
Yes learn something that will actually have practical career opportunities, if you think college is useful for anything more than a piece of paper that tells you you're qualified for X, then you're the fool user.

I became a toolworker before I got my HS diploma, then I worked for a year and this summer I'm getting my BSc. in physics and continuing onwards.

Nobody says you need to be stuck somewhere. If it sucks, change it. I know how you feel though, I couldn't bear to work with retards anymore.

Perhaps I go to a great university where I have already done loads of undergraduate research. I also would not know the nerds I do if I had not gone to uni.

I agree that there are better ways to learn but the piece of paper isn't everything.

Goodluck getting an internship at a nuclear powerplant by telling them you are self taught.

>Not trying to get the best of both worlds

The money kept me in. I left to do something else for a couple of years, didn't really enjoy it that much and went back. I mean, it's hard to complain since there are so many people who are struggling with basic things like obtaining a house or paying for health insurance. But if I could go back in time I'd probably try and find a different career path. Something indoors.
