How do they do it guys...

How do they do it guys? How do they get away with charging as much as they do compared to other burger places when it doesn't even taste that much better? I mean you can't sustain a franchise purely on introducing a new gimmick burger every other month, can you?

welcome to Carl's Jr. can I interest you in some /EXTRA BIG ASS/ french fries?

now with more /molecules/

Carls Jr
Fuck you
Im eating

It was a taco

I've noticed they tend to set up shop far away from other fast food restaurants. They want to be the sole restaurant in an area, and be your only lunch option.

The one near me is in visual range of a BK, a Chipotle, an Arby's, and a Popeyes. And there's an In-N-Out about 2 miles away. They have plenty of competition.

Yeah I gotta admit here in california, I'm struggling to understand how they're staying in business. A large combo with one of their main burgers easily hits like 12-14 bucks with tax, that's like easily double In-n-Out's cost, and while you could argue taste/style between them, I don't think Carls is twice as good as in and out for the price.

I pretty much only go when I get a coupon in the mail for a buy one get one free, and even then it's still damn expensive.

I think they're getting the hint on that too, they're introducing 5$ combo boxes like Taco Bell or KFC with like a few small things and a drink, probably to try and grab that "lower income" model or some shit.

God damn. In flyover land a combo is 8-9 bucks

Not him but I'd rather get the combo at In-N-Out for something like 6.50, and I'm not even a fan of their fries so I can get 2 double cheeseburgers instead with no fries for 7. Not cali tho, Nevada here.

they set one up near a whataburger down here in Texas. It lasted a whole two months

I haven't been to a Carl's Jr since they ditched the classic fries for the skin on ones

I sometimes go if a new gimmicky burger is out that sounds good.

NZ here. I only go to them when they have jalapeno poppers because no other franchise in my country knows what they are.

I love Hardee's. Only costs like $8 for a combo. Their $5 boxes are big enough to feed two people. It's one of the best $5 deals I've seen.

> I mean you can't sustain a franchise purely on introducing a new gimmick every other month, can you?

That's where you're wrong, kiddo.

No Taco Bell sustains itself on the fact that it's really fucking cheap.

>offer "six dollar burger"
>present it as comparable to burgers at other places that cost six dollars but for less money
>actually costs eight dollars
what in thefuck
i never understood these guys

Because their combos, when compared to other fast food burgers, are actually way above par.

it's a lot of burger but it's not anything special above size, i can't even finish it and it costs more according to the size diff
i guess if you're large or work hard it's ok but i'll just get a turkey sandwich from the grocery store or something

/thread

I'm in CA and have to eat at Carl's and it's nowhere near that expensive, I get the large combo and it's always under $10. The only thing I've seen over $10 is the chicken stuff

They charbroil their burgers and that makes them better than In'Out. Thr famous Star is damn tasty.

The crispy chicken quesadilla is really disappointing btw

Coupons.

Nobody pays full price at Carl's Jr. Their burger is like $8 but the coupons are always like 2 for $5.

They have the best breakfast biscuits in the industry, bar none. That probably helps. Idk if they're still doing the thickburgers, but they were giving you a legitimately heavy burger for your money for a while too. Plus they had their burgerporn gimmick for a while.

The California Classic cheeseburger tasted exactly like Inn-n-Out cheeseburger. It was nice until they raised the price back up, at which point they took out the incentives to go to Carls over InO.

I thought their chicken sandwhiches were way better than their burgers myself.

Carls Jr is about to open near where I work in Australia.
Should I be excited or ignore the hype?

Give 'em a shot. idk if they'll have the American-style biscuits, but those make a quick, tasty breakfast. You can get 'em with sausage, bacon, steak, pork chops, whatever, along with your egg and cheese.

And he means REAL bacon, not that Canadian bacon shit that you fags put on all your breakfast sandwiches and burgers

If you get one of their newer "premium" burgers that they rotate out every month or so, the small combos easily start at like 10-11 bucks, upgrading it to large adds another buck then tax and yeah you hit 12-13 dollars no problem. Especially if you splurge on the double patty or 1/3lb patty they offer on their burgers now. That upgrade alone adds another 1.50 to the cost.

I worked at a Carls jr for like a year. It's actually frozen trash. Don't waste your time and money.

Hm i love carls jr once a week. Way better than mcdonalds and burger king. They are overpriced though

What fast food restaurant doesn't use frozen meat and fries?

Wendy's

Too bad Wendy's is trash.

I had a thickburger and waffle fries from one at the airport. There's only like 2 in my whole country at the moment. Was pretty good and not particularly expensive.

You are on to something there.......

>Wendy's
>trash
Back to your bargain basement playskool looking fast food joint you pleb

Five Guys

He's not far off, where I live Hardee's is near a Taco Smell and Lardy's, but that's it, SackD's is either a mile off in one direction or a half mile in the other and they're not visible

this is one of the reasons they stay open. the whole breakfast is better than any other fast food spot
another thing I don't think any user has brought up. they have a taco option in some of the hardees. the one near me has a red burrito sign under the hardees sign and you can get tacos, burritos, and chips/salsa. I tried a couple beef hard shell tacos and a chicken soft taco, both were pretty good
