How THE FUCK do I take my rice game to a whole new level???

how THE FUCK do I take my rice game to a whole new level???

bring it upstairs or downstairs

Broccoli and Cheez Whiz with a microwaved hot dog on the side.

If most shitty TV and youtube cooks are to be believed, it's Saffron.

>grab a pinch of a few tiny stems of saffron
>lol careful dude this shit costs a weeks pay
>throw saffron into a huge pot of boiling water and rice
>it's got a mild flavor which is barely detectable, but boy it sure does make the rice turn a nice yellow color

Try making risottos? I tried it once but failed miserably. Good luck.

Cook with broth instead of water

Wtf is that supposed to be like flyover risotto?

For me it is the risotto, the only edible rice dish.

Depends on the kind.

Indian rice is fucking great, so is cilantro lime rice.

Persian rice is also pretty good

For some people it's pretty pungent and tastes like bleach.

saute bag of frozen veggies in butter
mix in spices
add in a cup of rice
simmer

done

This and add a tiny bit of butter before serving

What went wrong?
I just made risotto for the whole family last week and they loved it. Wasn't that hard.
>soak dried boletus in water for 30 mins
>drain them (keep the water), cut into bitesized pieces if necessary
>prepare a lot of broth (i used vegetable), about 1,5l, depending on how much risotto you plan to make
>cut up an onion and some garlic
>heat some oil of your choice in a big pan
>add the onions and mushrooms
>add the RISOTTO rice (arborio or something the like)
>stir for a while, untill rice is getting "seetrough"
>deglaze with white wine (good one... no use in skimping when cooking), about 3dl
>stir till it's soaked up
>stand nearby and stir OFTEN (really, there will be phases you are constantly stirring)
>now whenever there's no liquid left at the bottom of the pan, add broth and some of the water you kept from soaking the mushrooms
>you do this till the rice is done and you have made a creamy sauce by constantly stirring, about 30-40 mins
>add grated fresh parmesan and more butter than you'd think
>add salt and pepper as needed

I also occasionally added more white wine. Just because i really like it and it might be placebo, but i think it deepens the flavour if you add it at different stages of the cooking process. Iow, one batch gets cooked 30 mins, the next only 20, the last only 10.

Serve with more fresh parmesan on top.

Forgot that you'll add the garlic and some pepper just before deglazing

not a horrible idea desu

TY

Np

I even was a bit proud of myself, my very snobbish uncle told his wife (who later told me), that was the best risotto he ever had.

The rice is just the rice. And then you eat things on the rice or with the rice.

id say replace cheez wiz for some velveeta and the hotdog for a pork sausage or something then youd have something better desu

Make either Moroccan or Persian rice.

Switch to asian rice and all your meals will improve a lot.

Fry that bitch with...
Egg
Teriyaki sauce
Chili paste
Ginger
Garlic
Onion
And any meat of your choice

hi jiro how are you still alive?
