so mankind will still exist?

optimistically, humanity having colonized the galaxy using sub-lightspeed seedships, with Earth serving as a hub for hyper-advanced technology

realistically, Earth is a dead planet resembling Venus and humans are long extinct

but if I wake up from cryospleep, the second option doesn't really apply, so it would look good

more like trollkind

If "no", end of story. There are days I wonder if mankind will make it to the end of 2020.
If "yes", probably as nothing you'd recognize. HG Wells was insufficiently imaginative with the Eloi and the Morlocks. 100 million years is a long time. That far in the past great-great-grandpa resembled a mouse or a shrew, hardly worth the effort to bend over and swallow.

If "yes" read en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_After_Man

Seriously.

Weird ocean cultures (the humans have long died)

No niggers.

groggy blurry morning vision

Nothing, we would have blown ourselves up.

jews trying to nigger everything up
goddamn fucking jews

jews and cockroaches

Can really humans go extinct?
We are omnivores, we have intelligence and technology.
Decimated, yes it could happen. Extinct? I doubt it.
One day we'll reach immortality, and that could halt even our evolution.
So it's possible we will still be there not very different from what we are today.

> future world: europe getting blacked by africa
fugggg fuck off were full

we're smart enough to make technology that can make the planet uninhabitable, but not smart enough to use it carefully, or not at all

so yes, we could go extinct, and chances are, it'll be by our own hands

you wouldn't want to know.

I've always wondered, why does it seem like we exist it the exact time that the landmasses are the most evenly distributed over the earth? The past and future seems to have them all clumped together.

By that time earth will have been pretty fucked up from pollution and a big meteor, and humans are still around but forced to live like fallout games because hyper sjws ruined all the governments.

Oil usage is modifying climate but that isn't enough to kill our planet.
And that is primitive tech, in the future we'll use cleaner energy.
What would bring destruction to this planet? The internet? Quantum computing?
We're going to be smarter, not dumber.
Sorry for fans of hollywood disaster movies, we're not doomed and we're here to stay.

>in the future we'll use cleaner energy
only if its economically incentivized

>We're going to be smarter, not dumber
average iq worldwide is dropping. our technology is becoming more impressive though.

seeing as there are recorded instances of people using nuclear power plants which are 40 years past the out of commission date, do you really think its so absurd that we'd misuse some piece of technology causing disaster?

sure, it might not end all humans, but it'd be an existential end to civilization as we know it, nonetheless.

100,000,000,000 years is long enough to ensure homo sapiens no longer exist as we know them. Assuming we developed good space exploration techniques, humans would have evolved into many many different types of advanced organisms, probably more complex than we can understand. Oh and you'd probably be dissected or kept as a specimen for the ancestors of the advanced "humans". Imagine if we brought a triceratops to the 21st century. People would test the shit out of it haha.

Funny thing is, biology is our limiting factor. Think about it this way, we all have lifespans controlled by talomeres on chromosomes and stuff, and if you take control of all of your cells and DNA, who's to say you can't become faster, smarter and stronger than people around you?

>Quantum Computing
Easily no match for the all powerful AGI known as "clippy"

Gotta love George Wells

Smarter as in "we know a lot more".
A local nuclear disaster can only kill a few people, and civilization won't end even we had to lose 99% of humanity.
1% is still 80 million people, and technology is well documented anywhere.
We're more resilient than cockroaches.

>Smarter as in "we know a lot more".
sure, but if you think humanity will ever run out of bad ideas of what to do with technology, you're about as optimistic as heisenberg or nobel

theres too much history of humanity misusing or abusing technology for immediate gain at the expense of the greater good / long term benefit of humanity. as long as our technology progresses, and we remain a planetbound species (which in all likelihood will be centuries if not forever), the odds of us shooting ourselves in the foot go higher and higher.

Either a wasteland or a segregated utopia of various kinds (Including a small wasteland utopia for people who like post-apocalyptia.

It's not about being optimistic, on the contrary it's about being realistic.
Accidents will happen, maybe even disasters and massacres.
To reach extinction level we have to do a lot more than that, and we're probably not going to.

>theres too much history of humanity misusing or abusing technology for immediate gain at the expense of the greater good / long term benefit of humanity.
name one example

Dynamite.

Without properly colonizing space we are definitely bound to go extinct in about 1 billion years or so when the earth gets too hot from the suns expansion
