Anyone interested in making some new charts? I was thinking about making one about some edgy, disturbing books but I'd like some help.

...

get that fake shit out of here.

awful. this as an informative picture, holds no meaning or sense at all. it is fully engulfed in the meme. awful.

Anyone have the Kierkegaard chart?

>Holy Bible so high
Anyone have an ACTUAL Veeky Forums list?

>"Foucalt's Pendulum"

Holy shit

The one I have from a few years back is pretty much the same thing.

Last proper one

ughh... just read both authors in chronological order.

Camus in particular intended MoS/The Stranger/Caligula as a combined effort and The Rebel/The Plague/The Just Assassins as another.

Nietzsche chart anyone?

Just start with Kaufmann's biography and go anywhere from there.

>bible is high
>2016 has bible in top 10 too

are you retarded? go back to r/books newfag.

pretty much Veeky Forums reads the same 100 books with slight variation.

I'm down

>jerusalem

There you go boys

Is there any Philosophy related ones? (apart from )

Where should I start with Nietzsche? Just ordered Thus Spoke Zarathustra

There's a whole website dedicated to these so we don't have to post and repost them here.

Geek Love is good? Dismissed it because of the title.

Yes. It's quite freaky and well written. Not a masterpiece but it's an interesting read.

Irene's Cunt - Aragon
Songs of a dead dreamer and grim scribe - Ligotti
A clockwork orange - Burgess
Steps - Kosinsky
Grotesque - Kirino

Nice list so far, if I remember any more I'll post them

Great. Noted (Steps is already inside)

hey fuck you i'll make a thread about it when i eventually read it if i want to

it's actually great even if the title sounds YA and every cover I've seen is repulsive. disarmingly good considering how shoddily it's presented

I noticed after I sent that, my bad bro

Does anyone have that Nabokov flow chart?

Can someone make a chart chart please? I need a flowchart to see which chart to start.

Its written by a woman and being shilled by Redditors.

Start with the Greeks

>Jerusalem
>29

Anyone have a Bible translation chart?

nice list. i think someone should also make a chart of ambivalent young men finding their way/making fun of shit, passively going through a story like the existential novels

Evola guide or 'pre-reading' for Nietzsche guides?

>Come on dostoyevsky
>You can't just use 3 names for one person, how will we follow the plot.
>You said it was about murder, it took 200 pages to get to it.

pls no bully

Unless this is opposition research you are a fucking idiot.

Pfft, get on my level.
Here's the chart.
>My taste
>Books read by me
>Your taste
>Books read by you

Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk chart?

bit mean desu

Drown yourself kike

lmao

It's a bit one-sided. I wonder if the propaganda traumatized you as a child.

i never read any of the listed books

>i never read
well this is Veeky Forums after all

>all that Adorno
We New School naow

What's V. about?

It's an English version of Mr. Robot.

That show was a meme. I gave up after a few episodes.

You a freak nigger

What, why?

...

>bottoms dream
when will this meme die

Keep your political right/left dichotomy bullshit the fuck out of Veeky Forums.

Is there a chart for "fun" reading, like books that are just wonderful page-turners

Do people really need to read all those books to be selfish?

No just to justify it.

There should be a chart with a gradual difficulty. Some of the classics are easy and some are more difficult. For those of us just starting out it can be difficult to get back into reading with a Veeky Forums mindset.

>Kafka
>surreal
Fuck off with this meme, there's hardly anything surreal about Kafka.

Oh that'd be good, casual to pro.

I'll start the template if people want to recommend some books, and I'll make a chart.

>Light Reading Tier (Entertaining and easy reads for people who just want a good story)

Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
A Moveable Feast

>Moderate Tier (Mostly straightforward reads that have more unique styles of presentation)

Slaughterhouse 5
Catch-22
The Stranger
Kafka On The Shore

>Challenging Tier (Books that are complex in terms of narrative and language, offering a challening read for experienced readers)

The Crying of Lot 49
The Brothers Karamazov
Moby-Dick

>Grandmaster Tier (In both scope and theme, these books are sprawling and intricate reads that require constant focus and critical interpretation. For seasoned readers only)
Ulysses
Gravity's Rainbow
Infinite Jest
War & Peace

kekd

Holy shit, there's Marilynne Robinson chart.

>the Tunnel
>disturbing
Whew lad.

These lists should just be banned desu.

I mean I'm a philosophy major but do people on this subreddit really read this stuff if they're not interested in analytic philosophy?

I mean it's fine it's just the exact opposite of literature. It's very...well, analytic and mathematical. Reducing language to it's most basic terms

I'm thinking of a book I read like halfway through as a kid. The Nazis had won the war and the protag is an English Jew who is in domestic slavery to a government official and the official's wife forces the Jew to fuck her and the official beats the guy with piano wire and the Jew escapes to join the resisatance with a Polish whore.

What's the title pls? It's been driving me crazy.

this is the stupidest idea i've ever heard

DFW guide anyone?

>Infinite Jest

It's fucking easy just read it pussy

2017 picks

>infinite jest
>down 39 points

kek

I wish it included preferred translations/versions too, especially for Homer, Divine Comedy..

>"Your cunt tastes like the third reich"
>Not edgy

>edgy
>disturbing
Pick one.

Fuck off

...

Never recommend anything ever again, you plebbit-tier retard

There's already a chart like that.

>The dead as a separate piece

we cant agree on translations senpai

Well maybe not a BEST translation but "this translation is good for X, this is for y" and then maybe "this version of the book include/differs/has got something extra included"
mmaybe i o it when im bored

the ebook file has multiple translations for some of the big name entries for you to choose from.

also last time tried to make a "recommended translations" chart it was an unmitigated disaster that created a reddit-tier pleb chart

...

>preferring Gass' The Tunnel over Sabato's The Tunnel

wew lad

Zizek, Luxemburg and Wilde are meme authors. There's also too much Adorno. Besides that, this is surprisingly ok

go home pablo

>Arse Full of Farts
>former meme
>former

>proust
>ultimate

I think agree with Cormac McCarthy on Proust.

...

if you haven't read all of those before you're ~18, 20 at the latest, you're a dilettante pseud who should just kys
