Small excerpt from my essay on Veeky Forums.org/pol/;

>Analysis

Many frequenters of /pol/ engage in a willing and conscious suspension of disbelief when they partake in right-wing politics.

They enjoy the ridiculous exaggerations and outright lies for the outrage they provoke in Democrats, liberals, intellectuals and pompous commentators of all political stripes.

/pol/ users appreciate and help create fake news for conveying what they see as underlying symbolic truths about race and culture.

If you want to write an essay on something like the views of /pol/, take your emotions out of the equation. Try to understand their point of view. White identity is a large part of it, and if you can't understand the mindset of a white traditionalist, you probably shouldn't be writing about this topic, just as a white klansmen shouldn't write about black issues.

Realize that the world is not black and white. It is a pale shade of gray. Many whites are angry with what they feel is the eradication of their people and culture. Whether or not this is true is irrelevant, people feel this way. This is a serious topic and your rhetoric mocks the issue and comes across as pretentious and quite frankly ignorant. I'm not a /pol/ack, (personally, I think they are fucking idiots), and am not telling you to drop some "redpills". I simply ask you to take your emotions and biases out of the equation.

Wow, I am stunned by your insight and honesty. Not OP, just really liked reading this.

>an essay where I read all the minds of a completely random collection of anonymous people

simbly ebin

This biggest divide in this debate is modern urban populations underestimating how differently smaller towns and rural communities live to them. They have communities going back generations and dont like to suddenly be upended by mandate from some bureaucrat thousands of miles away, because once that fragile community balance starts to slide, it all fals apart and we end up with the devaststaed rural communities today with children fleeing to cities.

>he doesn't divide /pol/ in atleast 5 almost totally different far-right ideologies
>thinks he can write an essay

>l-look at me guys! I'm an internet anthropologist no! I got these /pol/ guys all figured out don't worry! Haha HRC 4 lyfe!

most people who browse /pol/ are dumb but you are even more vain and stupid

Rewrite your essay like this and tell me if it still sounds good to you...

Many negros in America engage in a willing and conscious suspension of disbelief when they partake in politics.

They enjoy the ridiculous exaggerations and outright lies for the outrage they provoke in Democrats, liberals, intellectuals and pompous commentators of all political stripes.

The negro appreciates and helps create fake news for conveying what they see as underlying symbolic truths about race and culture.

I don't think I changed even 5 words and I guarantee that you think it's shit.

Lol, this. I fucking despise these pop culture loving faggots. Especially the youtubers that make hour long videos "critiquing" some tv show or movie.

I don't see any analysis here.

>/pol/ users appreciate and help create fake news for conveying what they see as underlying symbolic truths about race and culture.

lolno. While they have conducted various types of psyops and disseminated propaganda, as far as fake news as properly understood goes, they hate that stuff. I assume you have in mind stuff like Pizzagate or "HRC is dying" or stuff like that, and if so your approach is wildly inaccurate. No one on /pol/ consciously 'appreciates fake news,' but instead are willing to latch onto any kind of positive mythos in order to regain power or annihilate the opposition. The point is they literally believe these things to be true.

I think you should do your essay on Veeky Forums in general, not on just /pol/ because I don't think that you know enough about their topics beyond superficial mockery. You can do what you want, but as someone who goes on /pol/ every now and then, you should take my advice.

This is a good post.

no it isn't.

don't write a fucking essay on /pol/

Actually, I agree with this post. Even if you understand how /pol/ thinks, stay away from this topic. It's a bad idea in general.

Didn't Ted figure this all out decades ago?
I really doubt you could add any significant commentary on Veeky Forums culture that wasn't explicitly implied or said in "Industrial Society".

you're actually retarded

Literally, just as retarded as the OP, that's the point of this post.

But those "smaller towns and rural communities" depend on the cities for their survival. The cities tend to pay more in taxes than they take in, and the towns tend to receive more than they pay.

It's hilarious to see rural people rail against higher taxes and healthcare when they wouldn't even be paying the brunt of it. They are a net drain on society.

>implying all are far right
There's a handful of /pol/shevik comrades and no one's entirely sure what Syria General want

I think SG is a combination of things. Perhaps no general consensus.

/pol/ is really not as extreme as you think. If you go on other websites like reddit or whatever, people often post similar viewpoints but they get deleted and banned. /pol/ is pretty much the only mainstream place on the internet that doesn't ban people for anti-immigrant and anti-multicultural rhetoric. It is not "extreme" so much as one of the few places that allow their side of the story. In fact, many of their views on immigration and race would have been almost universally accepted just 60 years ago, and are still accepted by most people in the world aside from the West. Ethnic identity is very strong in places like Eastern Europe and Eastern Asia.

Hmm, that's actually true.

They actually dont, this is a misnomer. Certainly communities do, yes, but most really are self sustaining and have been for a long time. The reason they struggle is the property market (one of the greatest tools for free flow of urban capital) does not really exist out there when everyone owns their family homes and land since the 17th/18th centiry.

Addtional suggestion, legalising cash crops like cannabis would do a lot to revive rural america.

Leftists suffer from horrendous amounts of confirmation bias that drives away moderates, the amount of socialists calling for the death of rival politicians far outstrips similar calls for violence by the far-right.

Isn't the problem that despite urban folk contributing more in taxes they receive many times more benefits? Bay Area and New York are giant suction machine draining the rest of the country.

>legalising cash crops like cannabis would do a lot to revive rural america.
It wouldn't, stop believing this myth, cannabis sales continue to disappoint and are causing major infrastructure issues in Colorado.

>Cannabis is causing major infrastructure issues.
What the fuck are you babbling about?

>depend on the cities for their survival
For what? Food? No, rural America is a net food exporter that feeds the cities and is responsible for America being just one of three countries that is not reliant on food imports (The other two being Canada and the Netherlands). Resources? Again, no, rural America is a net resource exporter. People? No, rural areas are the ones with above replacement birth rates.

Is this one of those
>hurr durr if you don't give 50% of your income to bureaucrats to line their pockets with and another 20% so they can give it right back to you in """"""Benefits"""" you're VOTING AGAINST YOUR OWN INTERESTS!!!
things I see you people always blathering about? How would you even know what their interests are if you've never left the city or actually interacted with the rural folk you despise so much? Why would you surmise that you somehow know what's best for them?

As someone who browsed /pol/ for several years and stopped in the wake of the inauguration of the current President when it became a battleground between Kekistanis and white nationalists, I feel like I have to let you know, OP, that you're beating a dead horse. The thing you think of as /pol/ is no longer defined by the web address at ; it is defined now by a cabal of non-Veeky Forums-based interest groups using the loose rules of this site to recruit people to the Alt Right. /pol/ is dead.

It's not really that different. There used to be much more Nazism.

Marijuana-related hospital visits and traffic deaths have doubled, gang crime has exploded, grow operations continue to use excessive amounts of water in drought situations, it isn't generating local jobs or revenue while increasing property prices (gentrification) and draining local resources, other states are becoming increasingly annoyed at produce grown in Colorado being trafficked into their states, etc.

That's a pretty big difference. Moving from Hitler to Trump is a big transition. You may disagree--but you'd have to be retarded to do so.

>Whether or not this is true is irrelevant
What a dumbass pseudo-intellectual thing to say. Of course it's relevant, the reality of the situation is the most important thing concerning how people perceive it. If idiots like you actually espoused discerning the facts surrounding why people think or act a certain way based on events they clearly know nothing about, beyond browsing a shitty board where memes replace actual discussion or research of any fucking kind and echo chambers that cherry-pick data to establish an entire political ideology, then actual, mutual understanding and reconciliation can take place. But no, you and the apathetic wanna-be philosophers think "hurr ur all right n wrong" is the end of discourse forever. If you actually think "it's a grey area" but refuse to consider how something like "muh erasure of white identity" is not only a serious opinion people have and base their entire life decisions off of (which culminates in acts of brilliance such as killing in cold blood an Indian man thinking he is Muslim), but it's also also completely unreal and absurd, then you have failed to solve anything. That leads to stagnation of actual problem-solving or self-improvement and the improvement of social cohesion that we desperately need right now.

Please put your ignorant, apathetic self to work actually analyzing why peoples' ideology is not only front-and-center in solving the problems of our world, but how there can absolutely be correct and incorrect beliefs regarding such.

Also funnily enough the smell in some areas has become so bad in Denver they've started installing industrial fans to shift the smoke.

Eh, it makes sense. The alt-right is the closest thing they're going to get to any sort of political success. During his campaign Trump seemed like he was more on their side than he actually is.

>then you have failed to solve anything
Wait--is this an engineering problem, or are we just trying to describe the beliefs and structure of the Alt Right and the people in it?
>Please don't explain belief systems that you don't think are right
Why not? Protip: there isn't a good answer to this question. You people who constantly demand action have failed to solve any of the problems that matter to you. What we need now is more thinking, more examination of what people believe, less public castigation of individuals who disagree with our interpretation of a statistic. You are a large part of the problem; you think that everyone is taking it upon themselves to heal social ills with every analysis of them. You're wrong. There are good reasons to understand the arguments of your enemy, and bad reasons to assume that all of your enemy's arguments are wrong. To show that your enemy is wrong, you must examine his arguments. How can you be honest about his being wrong if you don't know that his arguments are unsound?
You fool, rushing into battle with no knowledge of the composition of your enemy's army, or its disposition, or its location. You know only that your enemy is out there. You don't know enough. Somehow, you've fooled yourself into thinking that you do.

So you take it that I am misled somehow. Ok, fair enough, I would like to learn from you then. If by using your words we are to understand that the issue of the erosion of white identity is not only real, but relevant, then I ask, what can we do about it? Which group of people must give way to appease the other? The world is after all black and white as you put it. I would like to know how you would solve this issue. If one group must give way, then you surely must think that one party is guilty of something. Then we must establish what that group is guilty of, correct?

Yes, it makes sense. I'm saying that it happened and that it's not a simple thing to explain or understand. The mistake the Left has made for the past 2 years has been to think that it already comprehends what's happening and can offer adequate solutions to perceived problems. It's wrong. Look at this--most people outside of Antifa and the Alt Right can't tell you who this is. It should be common knowledge that there are schisms in the Alt Right.

The rural land is a net exporter, the rural people aren't. I've lived in a community with a population of 17 and other than the Amish most of them wouldn't be able to survive without towns. The number of people in America who identify as rural far outnumber those who are actually living a rural lifestyle.

>a 'pale' shade of gray
what did he mean by this

People in this thread have been reading way to much Vice or Vox, the alt-right doesn't exist, it doesn't have a concrete philosophy, there's no upcoming schism and they don't give a fuck about Evola.

It was a typo, he actually meant a "darker" shade of gray.

"people voting against their own interests" is the most annoying political meme of all time. I hate it so much

It's just the politically correct method of calling poor and rural people idiots.

>moving the goal posts
Damn, you sure showed me.

And "the land" doesn't export anything you Georgist retard, the people working it do. Keep crying about how Flyover states don't understand that you know what's best for them and that it was LITERALLY HER TURN.

Only rural and suburban retards voted Trump
Urban and educated people voted for Hillary

wank/10

How did left wingers become the party of rich cosmopolitan elites? When you think of snobby rich people now, what comes to mind are city liberals who attend award shows and celebrity parties....This was the stereotype about capitalists 100 years ago, but it's been this bizarre shift.

The Democrats have always been the pro big business party looking to exploit cheap labor and the Republicans have always been a loose coalition of everyone who isn't a Democrat. America is the regional hegemon (The region being the west) so American politics is what everything else is defined in terms of.

Left Wing politics have always been a passtime of the snobby middle-class urban dweller. See: Sartre. Yes, under an actual Communist regime, they'd be thrown into a sweatshop or just put up against a wall and shot, but they don't actually support Communism (As just an example) because they want it to happen, they do so in order to signal to others how good of a person they are. It's a form of peacocking, like Rednecks jacking up their pick'em'up trucks to look tough.

What better way to show how good of a person you are than to tell the urban poor and the rural farmer what's best for them?

Fanfiction is bannable user...

And they're both shit choices, just in different ways (one fails ethically, the other in basic competence)

>Left Wing politics have always been a passtime of the snobby middle-class urban dweller
While this is completely true of the Democratic Party, it would be a mistake (I suspect a deliberate one) to write off the idea of a politically active working class. Clintonite Liberals are not Leftists; in policy they're barely distinguishable from neocons.

This is true, in many places like Latin America and east Asia have negative wiews is uncontrolled massive immigration. And also are deeply racist

Clinton was one of the most liberal members of the Senate. Clintonites are further left than most European progressive parties.

>cherry-picking data to establish an entire political ideology
>muh erasure of white identity
The United States of America are ~54% white. Does this fact say nothing to you, nothing at all?

You mean socially or economically? Because I could kind of see the former with all the stuff about transgender toilets and whatnot, but in relation to big business/banking interests she'd be laughable compared to Corbyn or Melenchon.

Socially, they aren't "neocons" economically either but aren't as far-left as Melenchon or Corbyn like you said.

Oh, I meant neocon more in terms of nationalism/militarism (where Clinton as Sec. of State had a Middle East policy practically the same to Bush Jr., just with more drones)

Rural people should assume the "kulak" identity so they can take part in victimism like blacks and Jews.

here you go op i will explain it to you like you are 10 years old life.spectator.co.uk/2016/10/a-handy-guide-to-left-wing-people-for-the-under-10s/

>moving the goalposts
Was my first post ITT senpai
>the people working it do
Hardly anyone works the land anymore, the employment breakdown in rural areas is pretty similar to that in urban areas with services being the dominant industry
>Flyover States
Hey don't call my home that asshole, I've been here almost 30 years and I love it
>Literally her turn
Well shit maybe I fucked up not voting for her since someone who's proven to be such an accurate judge of myself had me pegged as a Clinton supporter. I was just about to go turn compost and water the crops seeing as how it's been hot and dry here in flyover country, but now I'm facing ego death thanks to your remarks.

Wow, this is stupid and obvious and your posting of it is am embarrassment to this board you 12 year old.

>am embarrassment
I could take care of all the wrinkles in all my shirts with this irony
