I thought the rape themes were really disturbing and didn't really fit the tone of the novel at all.
They definitely felt tacked on.
So do most high schools....
Gave me a bang
It was really a terrific bore.
Yeah, I specifically like how Holden rapes his sister Pheobe.
I will always love this book.
i liked it up until he raped his sister, phoebe
I disagree, the rape themes as seen through Holden's immaturity fit well into the novel.
god damn it
When will the Holden rapes his sister meme die?
When will the Phoebe rape deniers be laughed off of this board?
>ywn be a part of Holdens inner monologue
...
it really did
During the first time I read Catcher in the Rye I thought I got spoiled by one of you with this rape bullshit.
I'm not sure if it enhanced the experience, because I kept looking for rape allusions. In hindsight it was funny.
Prett good book.
