Does anyone have any recipes for people with acid reflux problems? I have silent GERD for about a year now and have taken prilosec for a month but it didn't really cure it.

Yeah its called working out and not being fat

I'm pretty slim but haven't worked out in years, I'll start walking and running from now on I guess.

wew lad

Truly a scholar of medicine.

bump

proton pump inhibitors are linked to early death

Damn, good thing I stopped taking them after a few weeks.

Drink a LOT more water, have tums on standby, stay away from greasy foods
And yeah, exercise

t. some guy who used to get acid reflux anytime he ate or drank anything other than water

just drink straight bicarbonate and water it should neutralise the acidity of your stomach and prevent damage from reflux

How many times will I have to drink bicarbonate? I've heard that it can actually make things worse so I'm skeptical.

fucking retards itt op its caused by your stomach acid NOT BEING ACIDIC ENOUGH.

How do I find out if this is the case?

chriskresser.com/what-everybody-ought-to-know-but-doesnt-about-heartburn-gerd/

If you don't trust the source just (((google))) gerd + not enough acid.

tl;dr is have some apple cider vinegar with your dinner, its super fucking good for you in a million other ways as well, and eat more acidic foods to balance out all the alkaline shit these dumb niggers have probably had you eating

get this shit after pasta and then working out. shits annoying but 2 antacids do the trick in seconds

>taking drugs instead of changing your diet

>taking antacids 3x a year is drugs

ok

>taking drugs 3x a year isn't taking drugs

this seems like a good thread for it:

does anyone know if a food reflux disease exists? i'm basically "vomiting" up food randomly. it can be hours later.

>calcium
>drug

if you're vomiting after various different foods you def have some stomach problems. see doc ASAT

>thinks antiacids aren't their own class of drug
>thinks because it has calcium in its name it isn't a drug

Keep spreading misinfo, fag. The closest thing they're linked to is vitamin B deficiencies, and even those are an irregularity.

Whole food plant based diet :-)

YOU DONT NEED TO GO TO A DOCTOR THEY WILL PRESCRIBE ANTIACIDS YOU JUST NEED TO BE LESS OF A RETARDED NIGGER AND READ

>hurr google my bullshit claim for me
>trust my nu-male source from a man selling pills otherwise

Daily reminder there's no evidence ACV is any healthier then any other vinegar and Kessler's claim comes from a master's thesis regurgitated across popular media where antacids were found to be superior to ACV after 75 minutes upon ingestion.

Maybe you should try actually digging instead of tasking other people to dig for you.

>But there was no proof that the increased risk of death was directly caused by the PPI drugs. The researchers tried to adjust for underlying health factors, such as cardiovascular disease, which is often treated with daily aspirin, but it's possible the effects of these or other factors could still have influenced the results.

Didn't claim that

I don't even know who you're talking about. I fixed my acid reflux by ingesting 1 spoon of apple cider vinegar, and eating more acidic foods.

Have fun paying for big pharma for decade after decade you dumb nigger.

You can stop posting at any time.

You need to check yourself for food intolerances by doing an elimination diet.
If any food gives you bloat or refux dont eat it anymore.
A food allergy test would be good too

tomatoes help stop avid

What you don't seem to understand is that antiacids treat the symptom successfully, very successfully. The problem is that they don't treat or in any way address the actual problem of an alkaline tum tum.

I had this and it stopped completely when I started chewing gum

>that pain when you find out you cant eat your fav foods

>backpedaling this hard

Enjoy your placebo.

its not really vomiting, it's like regurgitating. it feels like a burp but it's actually food.

it doesn't feel like vomit either. it'll be whole pieces that feel like they haven't even been in the stomach.

this verifies what he is saying

holy shit you're retarded

Eat probiotics.

Welcome to GERD.

Do you exercise?

as much source as your mom's favorite porn mag food page.

eat less

yeah: fast! no better way to relieve that kind of problems.

of course it wont be a thing of a single fast, just make it part of your diet.

no

but i'm not fat. i eat once a day and my consumption is below average

I don't either and I get acid reflux problems, I;m guessing it HAS to be lack of exercise.

This. It’s how I deal with heartburn whenever I get it, which is admittedly almost never.

you can neutralize the current acidity, thats fine, but your gastrin cells in your stomache will continue to release gastrin, eventually causing increased release of H+ into the stomache. increased acidity in the stomache usually creates a negative feedback effect on gastric cells. hitting a certain ph value will cause gastric cells to stop secreting the hormone responsible for increased stomache acid. if you continuously add a base, and neutralize the stomache acid, the gastrin cells will continue to release gastrin due to the cells never reaching the desired ph.

try esomeprazole/omeprazole/lansoprazole, maybe one will work.

I tried omeprazole for a month but I didn't see much of a difference in terms of my esophagus and voice sounding back to normal.

I started getting acid reflux due to age, obesity and lots of sugar. haven't had it in a month though so its weird. used to never get it. maybe once every 2 years

Try a small shot of apple cider vinegar I know it sounds terrible but it is the most alkaline thing you can put into your body it usually cures mine within 15 minutes

If nothing is working...try fasting, or try eating earlier, like eating nothing 8 hours prior to sleeping.

Like fast everyday ? How would I get my calories?

>Well, everything feels normal, it's probably just indigestion. But let's go ahead and do a quick rectal exam to rule out appendicitis or some other nasty stuff.

T-thanks, doc.

I somehow developed this within the past six months, not overweight or anything, it's a pain in the ass

Good balsamic works too, they slow the acid pumps in your stomach. Pretty sure they're not alkaline though: I was under the impression that they overdosed the stomach to the point where it stopped.

Also, you can find some really nice cider vinegars, and slurp them down with some air so it tastes nice but very little touches your tongue.

Lots of digestive disorders can be improved by giving the digestive system a break. Try not eating for 1 day. If you can handle that, then you can go for week long fasts. Fasting is also a great way of reprogramming eating behavior. I had acid reflux and sleep apnea because I ate one big meal and ate it at a certain time only (4 hrs before bedtime). I was stuck in a bad rut. Fasting was one tool that helped me break that habit and rearrange my eat/sleep cycle. It's not the one cure all but it is a good trick to have up the sleeve, for me anyways.

I have severe depression and anxiety and lately it's gotten to the point where I can't bring myself to eat, and if I try I'll have to fight the urge to vomit (as it happens when I fail to do so).
As a result I've been going days eating nothing (or very little) until I have to force myself to eat so I don't pass out, or my anxiety gets better so I can eat (where I stuff myself to make up for the lost nutrients and to stock up for the following fast).
Some time after this started, I started to get acid reflux and what he [ ] has.

Is starting to eat regularly again the only way to fix this?

For the record, I'm very skinny and underweight, and don't exercise due to a rare condition that prevents me from doing physical activity.
Also I can't afford going to the doctor or getting medication.

I would say eat small meals through out the day and try and see a doctor for your stomach.

Make sure to eat healthy too.

This is the best advice. I had issues with acid reflux from ages 6 to 22. The one thing that changed that more than anything was cutting out soda and fruit juices. For the past 5 years (I'm 27 now), I drink 1 gallon of water, 1 gallon of beer, and 1 quart of milk every day and have 0 stomach acid issues unless I fast for a day, which is caused by the beer.

Sugar is the greatest enemy of developed nations. If you can't quit drinking carbonated carbohydrate-rich drinks, just switch to beer.

>tfw consume almost no processed sugar (makes me nauseous) nor carbonated beverage but still get heartburn

Do you drink a lot of water? If you're not drinking beer, then just replace that with another gallon of water, bring the daily total to 2 gallons. Also, get some potassium in you whether it's in milk, potatoes, or avocados (bananas are a shit source).

Not that user, but I think sugar may be playing a huge part in my acid reflux.

I'll try cutting down sugar and see if it helps.

You need an ant-acid with a lot of sodium algenate. Take it after food and before bed. The algenate forms a raft on the stomach acid and prevents it from going through the sphincter in your stomach.

Eat smaller meals, cut out fat. Avoid acidic food, as the acid activated the person that has been reflexes to your throat. Symptoms should heal within 6 weeks. Then it’s just management.

I have silent reflux too. It sucks but I’ve been symptom free for years and have regular check ups with my ENT (britbong with free NHS, they are running a study on silent reflux so I get yearly laryngoscopes). Also helped me go from a fat fuck to a BMI of 21. My throat is absolutely fine now, and there’s no evidence of scarring. But that’s only because I sorted it out quickly and have stuck to the lifestyle changes.

You want to sort this shit out quickly. LPR is the highest risk factor for throat cancer and is worse for you that smoking 40 a day. If symptoms continues it’s a matter of if and not when.

>activated the person

Meant pepsin. Autocorrect.

a glass of milk helps me every time i get heartburn or reflux
really works, try it

I'll try that, thank you.

How long did it take you to sort it out? Also which antacid did you take?

I've only had it for about a year, but this is creeping me out.

...

May I ask what your race is? I feel like this could be related to the types of food the certain demographic is eating.

To be honest, this could make sense.
I was a coca-cola addict for more than 3 years (drank about 2 liters every day, + energy drinks sometimes), and when I stopped doing this, I started experimenting reflux/heartburn.

why are you using autocorrect when it is wrong most of the time, mr. reddit?

>antacid chews
yeah this tastes like seashells
>prilosec
yeah this helps a little
>pantaprazole
this helps a lot better

>Does anyone have any recipes for people with acid reflux problems?
Eat a whole food plant-based diet.

Even if this doesn't stop the acid reflux completely, it will still reduce the risk of esophageal cancer.

>If you can't quit drinking carbonated carbohydrate-rich drinks, just switch to beer.
>if you can't quit drinking the sugary jew, just switch to this literal estrogen bomb

I took Omeprazole and Gaviscon Advanced, but for LPR the imperators isn’t really helpful, because the reflux puts stomach enzymes in your throat, and they’re activated by acidic food you eat. The best bet is a low acid diet and small portions. When the sphincter in your stomach heals, you reflux less.

Symptoms heal in about 6 weeks.

I’m english, white. 100% Northern European according to 23 and me.

if you tend to eat alot of your favorite food then its probably the cause.

We are creatures of habit.
And our habits will surely end up killing us.

Don't drink carbonated beverages. I have a friend who used to drink a lot of sparkling water and after he cut that out the problem went away.

regular activity helps move shit in the digestive system.
However lifting weights can give you hernias which can also add to digestive problems.
Its not uncommon for runners to pee blood however. Which is also a symptom of acidic urine. Or at least kidney stones are.

yoga
walking
sit ups/ crunches/ push ups
sex also

Rifaximin.

Take it for a few days. I used to get WICKED heartburn from abusing sedatives, and this gut-specific antibiotic was really the only thing that helped.

Zantac plus whatever you want to cook.

Okay I'm in the middle of Of gaviscon, Pepcid or Zantac.

Still can't decide, I know Prilosec barely helped. Made me feel kinda dizzy at times too.

No fried foods
Much smaller portions
More green veg
Less meat
More water
More exercise
Don’t eat when rushed or stressed
Profit?
