What famous people have you chosen to use in your head as visualizations of characters when reading books?

What famous people have you chosen to use in your head as visualizations of characters when reading books?

I don't think i have ever done this.

i imagine all characters as anime

>he cares about famous people

Keep consuming MSM, you indoctrinated peasant.

Pretty much this

Unless otherwise described the main character is a generic guy with medium length brown or black hair

>Creating mental imagery using existing people

You are AI

all of the characters are Kanye West and the voice of the narrator is also Kanye West

That plebtrician feel when you use pornstars as mental images for lascivious women in lit.

Don't know about you, but when I read I just don't give the characters an image, just an idea.

It's not about caring about famous people you dip. It's using a familiar face as a visual cue instead of having a faceless character in your mind.

You're not truly enjoying the books you read if you can't even craft a mental image of the characters.

If I see a movie before the book, then I can't keep myself from visualizing the character as the way they are in the movie, no matter what the book says.

Yeah I can't read the LotR without seeing every character from the movie. If I actively try to change them it's too distracting. Kind of a curse desu.

Hemingway in that sweater as Ishmael

This is actually pretty good

paul dano

I have this as well. Also it makes me incredibly biased towards whatever I experience first. It took me a long time to realize that the LotR books are vastly superior to the movies, because I was so attached to the actors and the score.

I found some wikis of pornstars to create a cast of characters for erotica I'm writing.

It's not going anywhere because I am a writer with no formal training or experience. I do however think it makes sense to really figure out who your characters are and worldbuild though.

Who is this wench?

>wench

my queen

I don't know why, but, while reading Crime and Punishment, I couldn't help but imagine Christoph Waltz (in various ages) as all the characters. The same thing's been happening with all the books I've read since I finished it.

>ITT plebs raised on TV and videogames dont understand nonvisual storytelling
major kek

For some reason, when I read 1984, I imagine Winston as George Costanza from Seinfeld

In JR
>Heath Ledger as Bast
>James Stewart as Gibbs
All I could really come up with

This, red rising was pretty anime in my mind.

Is this meme real? People don't actually do this right?

Paintings

This is how I imagined Raskolnikov to look like

This only happened to me once with Grushenka. I always pictured her like this smug cunt.

thats oblomov

t. penguin

Not until after I had already read it but Ian from the stone roses looks like how I imagined Dorian Grey

My copy had illustrations.

I imagem they are all black

I think he's saying the fact that you find famous faces familiar is suggestive of your indoctrinated consumption of MSM

In Steppenwolf when he was looking at the mirrors somehow I just couldn't get the idea out of my head that he was looking at this.

Then again, I can't stop listening to Ihatemodels so..

who be this lady(?)?

this.

Same, but they're more like blurry paintings. I don't think I could imagine a detailed face based off words.

good taste m8

Do you even need to ask?

I use Hugh Laurie as Sherlock Holmes

Just finished crime and punishment and I always saw raskolnikov as this

>lady
She's a boy

but more decrepit and despaired

just finished reading the republic with adam sandler as socrates

>tfw all of the women in your stories are jut descriptions of girls you have loved
>tfw you imagine them reading it and wondering if you're talking about them
>tfw you'll never be published so none of this matters anyway

I have a feeling this is 90% of writers that have ever existed.

I have never done that.

Fuck you

>Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov
I know I'm not the only one

who is this lady who is a boy?

I don't have a name

Hayden Panettiere, Alexis Bledel, Ellen Page, Lindsay Lohan

h-how can this be a boy

;_;

>not using your imagination to create a new person
it sure is pleb in here

/tv/ go back to your containment board

>10 billion people in the world
>oh I'll create an entirely brand new one just for myself xD
Why is Veeky Forums so insufferably pseudo intellectual?

Who does Madame Psychosis sound like to you guys? I was having a hard time reconciling "the hottest woman with the sexiest voice ever" with "also she has a slight southern accent lol"

This is how I imagined the epanchin family in the Idiot looked like (with less family members though)

WHen I was reading the Stand I imagined Brad Pitt and a few others

>let's write fanfiction about movie stars
come on, try harder.
