Agreed. I wanted to be a psychologist at one point in my life. Quickly realized the best medication for neurotic people (though not for someone with a real disorder like schizophrenia) is a hard slap in the face.

After taking some graduate classes I also realized I only considered this partly because I was projecting my own current problems, partly because I deluded I could *reach* people in a way others couldn't, and partly because I thought I'd be patient enough to hear peoples' bullshit for hours a day. If you want to help people with a job get a normal one and donate your money.

Classes and training are also not rigorous AT ALL. They emphasize multiculturalism more than anything now. My classmates considered themselves war heroes of social justice, and I had to suppress my gag reflex whenever I sat next to the hairy, smelly feminist who would jail me if I so much as looked at her.
