Essentially, by 2050 there'll be mass worldwide droughts which will lead to mass food shortages and that will lead to mass death up to billions of people, and in most places you will likely have Martial law and Soviet-Union-esque living conditions. Every summer will be too hot to live outside, so most of the poor, even in first world countries, will die from heat stroke and dehydration. There's no prevention of this, though theoretically we can reduce the effects if we started mass effort in going green today. People tend to think someone's inevitably going to find some "fix" for climate change. Not happening. But after billions of people die there's going to be the rich intelligentsia left to rebuild the world. Maybe they'll make the West into something great, or not, but there's marginal hope there at least.
