Come try my overpriced fried chicken sandwich over at
>fuku
>fuk u
>fuck you

No thank you.

I'm glad that didn't go anywhere
I had big plans to open a chicken sandwich cart and then he announced his bullshit. I was worried chicken sandwiches would become the next big hipster trend and I wouldn't be able to do business because everybody would be making them
luckily that didn't happen

I still never opened the cart though

please explain this to me

David Chang, owner of Momofuku, shows the occasional public glimpse of knowing that he's a bit of a fraud - that at this point people will buy what he sells simply because his name's attached to it, regardless of price.

Dude opened up a more casual, chicken oriented place right next to his main digs, playing on Momofuku, with a more casual, abbreviated name: Fuku.

Momofuku sounds kind of like motherfucker, and Fuku is even more obvious. I wouldn't put either past Chang - half expecting an automat called I-Rob in his casserole of nonsense in the next five years.

I lost all respect for that faggot after I saw a "Mind of a Chef" episode where he "improved" the BLT by grinding the bacon into a paste and using tomato jam instead of a tomato. I mean dude, you'can't improve the perfect sandwich by turning the ingredients into nursing home food for toothless, bedridden alzheimer's patients. The texture of the classic BLT is an integral part of it.

Happened for me when he made Gnocci from top ramen.

goofy ass fraud

Momofuku has pretty good food but he seems like a drunk shithead. In other words, a typical chef.

that was just a silly stunt

how dare he be innovative and original

used to work at 110 wall. They had Fuku and the even more pretentious Milk Bar.

Wasn't paying 18USD to a zipper head for a chicken sandwich.

If you dislike him you must not like many people. Sure he likes alcohol. A lot. But he is pretty fun to watch.

>look up menu
>$8 for chicken sandwich in NYC
that's not even that expensive, I was expecting $15+, christ how fucking poor is this board? I can find chicken sandwiches for the same price or more in a medium sized city in fucking florida.

> ITT triggered niggers mad that a Chinese man can cook fried chicken better than them

Pretty sure some dumb nigger will try to play the "cultural appropration" card while eating his Panda Express takeout.

Shake shack chicken sandwich is like $2 cheaper and way better.

Gerber's been making mush for babies since the 20s, man.

Excuse me, this is a safe-for-work board.

Please do not say the n-word here.

How is nigger not safe for work? Lol it's not like he's posting porn or gore or something

I guess someone could walk by and see you reading something that says nigger and you'd have a problem. But still, global rule 3, fag.

Eat my ass, pig.

this makes me hard

David chang is a giant cockbag.

I saw that one episode of Worth It where they went to korea and he is so fucking full of himself. If these people weren't chefs they would be just another drunk singing about the glory days. He looks very unhealthy as well.

>How are niggers not safe for work?

Surely you jest

>>How are niggers not safe for work?

implying they show up

Vlad, pls, don't you have a Putin "election" to manipulate?

...

How did I not make that connection..

What the fuck? Some blacks have jobs. Not all of them are unemployable welfare leeches.

Blacks =/= niggers

>Korean making bank selling Japanese fusion food

Is this cultural appropriation?

same here. its because he likes to mix things into mayo, and obviously aioli is a big meme that spread for the past 4 years now in any fast-casual/gourmet place.

he said the momofuku thing in a video but it's also in reference to the inventor of instant ramen.

i haven't heard of fuku the fried chicken place. i thought he always offered fried chicken at somm bar or wahtever the fuck the other place is called.

everyone in this thread should keep in mind that david chang had the huge financial support from his dad, who was also a restauranteur. chang was 100% bank-rolled by family money in a field that his father already had experience in. so it's not as though this fucker came out of nowhere. he just got lucky and was smart enough to keep improving, keep broadening friendships with fags like bourdain, peter meehan, and david choe, etc.

how the fuck is david choe helping him with his restaurants?

Fuck off David Chang makes great food. Milk Bar had the best ice cream I've ever had in my entire life

Fried chicken isn’t japanese you uncultured swine

>aioli is a big meme that spread for the past 4 years
You’re either a fucking idiot or a flyover.

>shake shack

korean culture is cultural appropriation

>Walks through a fruit orchard full of viable produce
>Sees one unripe cherry
>Picks and brings it to show and tell with horror stories of diseased trees and unsafe working conditions

Fried chicken isn't all that Dave does. Quit cherrypicking for a second and check out the conversation for context.

wow, a mass produced fast food sandwich is cheaper than one made in a restaurant?

WHODDA THUNK?!?!

he also said it's better

that's irrelevant. taste is subjective, and the opinion of a random Veeky Forums poster that has most likely never even been to faku shouldn't affect yours.

the important thing to keep in mind is that a single store pays more for produce than a large chain.

Then what is karaage?

Cultural appropriation doesn't exist. No culture "owns" any aspect of anything; they're all just human ideas or products which can be used, repurposed, or modified by any other human. There's no such thing as objective originality so the idea that a person, culture, or nation "owns" ideas in a meaningful way is bunk.
