The fact that Trump got elected indicates that traditionalist, anti-progressive, racially and culturally "insensitive" people do not, in fact, comprise a fringe minority of the American population. If you think the potential for fascism to arise in the US is not only not near a flashpoint, but is not even possible, I think you are mistaken. The influence of these people is growing by the day. And the president, although maybe not a white nationalist, seems to see them as a kind of necessary corrective to western leftism. His tacit endorsement could quickly turn them from a fringe group balancing the scales to the vanguard of a mainstream ideology.

It's more likely that the elites overplayed their hand with current big issues like the economy and immigration. /pol/ is an epiphenomenon of deeper systemic issues (that still haven't been fixed). There is only so much smugness and know-it-all-ness that people can take from the managerial elites when they question their policies.

Half of the threads here from alleged /pol/ posters are actually /leftypol/ and soys larping as /pol/lacks. It's painfully obvious, because they are often lazy caricatures of their ideas, and have no depth to their sockpuppeting when arguing. /pol/lacks at least will put in some effort through shit jpegs or something, even if they are wrong.
