I think the alt right is the intellectual vanguard of our day. But there has been a recent move to be less so in order to appeal to the less political, less intellectual types. And think this is smart. You can only get so far with the former strategy.

If you think WASPs were anti-intellectual work horses you are just ignorant. There is a reason they are a thing of legend nowadays and don't exist as a group anymore. I'm actually a Catholic of humble origins, so I can't help you with your inquiries about the WASP mindset or modus operandi. I don't think they should be emulated though, in reality most people from that class are best suited to monastic style life or sleepy university towns where they can write tomes nobody will read.
