Absolutely. For example, The Family Moskat is a great novel. It's very surprising to me how Singer can slip through the cracks on this board.
His brother Israel Singer was a good author too, Brothers Ashkenazi being his main work.
How about bin the buzzwords and catchphrases and become a reader.
I find Bellow's novels quite interesting to read on a paragraph by paragraph basis, but in the end I'm always left with the sense the novel didn't rise above the minutiae, never built into something greater, it just ended. There is plenty of content, but something is missing. Bellow holds my attention, but ultimately that's all he does.
