Spam musubi. How and why?

Hawaii has had a sizeable Japanese population for a while and Spam was very popular there during and after WWII.
So they made a cheap street snack of it.

my favourite food, absolutely nothing tops spam musubi for me
got it literally every day when i lived near a market that made it

Is it tasty then? Should I try it?

I brought two to school every single day for most of elementary/middle school.

not everyone can afford fish on rice, jiro. some of us have to settle for spam.

What do you mean "why?", it's pretty good.

It must be pretty unhealthy with all of that salt?

But is it better than fish, or?

spam actually sells that flavor in stores now.

Spam is an acquired taste for some, it's very salty and fatty.
It's up to you.

I am the inventor of Hamsubi; seasoned rice, sprinkled with furikake, wrapped in a thin slice of ham that is then lightly seared in a teriyaki glaze.

Honolulu 2004

make it without soy for less salt
are you fucking autistic? "is it better than fish", i don't fucking know, do you like spam or fish more retard?

Use the low sodium kind.

Why does it have to be better than fish to be good?

TBF even low sodium spam still has a lot salt in it compared to other meat products.

>all of that salt

It's two slices of spam and a little shoyu.

I've had it before, I like it fried in griddle. But I never thought about doing that with it.

Damn, that sounds delicious.

Okay, is it as good?

Spam is full of sodium, brother.

But when added to the blank taste of rice... it stays balanced and agreeable.

I wouldn't say "blank".

>Okay, is it as good?
Again, why does that matter? Judge it if it's good on its own.

Well, I guess I'm going to have to make myself some teriyaki and buy some nori.

Trying something is the best way to know if you'll like it.

It's gotta be sticky kine rice, too.

That's very true. I detest people who say:
>I don't like it!
Yet they've never even tried it.

I know, but thanks.
