GMO avocados like this when?

GMO avocados like this when?
Fuck greenpeace

Enjoy all that fat Mr reddit

will they cost a dollar more?

I'm not gay, but I strongly prefer fruits with nuts in it.

>I'm fat because of all the avocados I'm eating
This has never happened.
If you get other GMO benefits like less spoiled harvest and less pesticides needed then they will probably be cheaper

You could probably breed them to have a smaller pit, no GMOs needed for that. I think pitless avocados are beyond the scope of our current GM abilities.

This, it's part of the enjoyment for me.

Fucking kek

GMOs are the only way to solve the coming food crisis. Anyone who is against GMOs are anti-science, you belong over there with the flat earthers and creationists.

pic is the state of your balls?

>Thinks a cross section of testicles looks like that
Confirmed as pleb who's never cooked rocky mountain oysters.

The only way? You sure about that

I'm millennial what is this

>You could probably breed them to have a smaller pit
Then why aren't people doing that?
Why do you still get fucked over by BIG PITS from time to time?

Being anti GMO is pretty much like being anti-vaccine. You should forfeit certain benefits if you are.

With a dollar's worth of avocado where the pit used to be (avocados are expensive where I live)

>"GMOs are bad" meme

Educate yourself, op.

>all fat is bad
Literally what I'd expect from someone who just wandered over from /b/. Hope you're enjoying your first day visiting naughty sites. It's bed time soon though!

You won't have enough toast for all that, soyboy.

how will we grow more if all the seeds disappear OP? great plan retard

we just need avocados in the shape and skin of bananas

Genius.

wow, now we can feed all those people that don't need to exist thus expediting the decline of earth

thanks gmos

>This has never happened.
you'd be surprised. Fat +sugar is a dreaful combo

>Fat +sugar is a dreaful combo
This is true. One time I drank a glass of milk and now I have AIDS.

Weird, I got my AIDS from sucking cock

>GMOs are the only way to solve the coming food crisis. Anyone who is against GMOs are anti-science, you belong over there with the flat earthers and creationists.
Countries heavily invested in GMOs, ie U.S.A. and Canada, have zero food security issues. In fact, they eat too fucking much.

Or do you think glyphosate-resistant corn, soy, cotton, and canola are somehow saving the planet? Instead of responsible and timed application of glyphosate, farmers just haphazardly soak fields in the stuff, creating a nice selective pressure that has already resulted in the discovery of glyphosate-resistant weeds. And the effect of glyphosate on suppressing fungi antagonistic to phytopathogens. Not to mention the high amounts of glyphosate residue entering our food supply, which clearly has an impact on our gut microbiota.

If there were no GMO foods it would have zero impact on your quality of life. But no, you need your corn ethanol and ubiquitous soy in all your food. Soyboys demand more efficient soy production! Maybe you'll be lucky and we'll find out that glyphosate swings the gut microbiota in favor of species unable to metabolize genistein, so you'll have an even richer Soyboy body.

Gotta ensure the survival of violent Muslims with unsustainable birthrates.

Reminder that the only real problem with GMOs is the fact that wide scale work on them is done by inherently corrupt corporations.

Retard

>sees that countries with gmos have no food security issues
>thinks this is a reason to abandon gmos
Genuinely hilarious. Also, I've read a lot on the glyphosate issue, and you're a complete crackpot if you buy into it. We consume so fucking little it's insane

Why not engineer them to grow in the shape of a jar with a lid so you can scoop out some and save the rest for later? I feel like scientists are really slacking.

Ever heard of pineapples? Or seedless watermelons? You know almost every apple tree that grows edible apples was made from a cutting, right? An apple tree grown from seed with edible apples is a very rare thing.

>Reminder that the only real problem with GMOs is the fact that wide scale work on them is done by inherently corrupt corporations.
this, we've been genetically modifying food and animals for millenia.

>LD50 is the end all, be all
kek

And nowhere did I say GMO R&D should be abandoned. There are two types of scientific illiterates: those who are afraid and those who aggressively accept everything under the guise of progress. GMO crops have had zero impact on food security in the western world. We should continue R&D to develop potentially useful crops that can be employed when needed and when deemed that their potential risks are heavily outweighed by their benefits.

Losing glyphosate, the most important herbicide ever, because of irresponsible usage brought on by Roundup Ready crops is a travesty.

>Ever heard of pineapples?
They are seedless because they aren't pollinated.

What’s your point?

GMO crops have had massive impact on food security around the world and allowed western countries to reach peak farmland, thereby returning it to forest, combatting the devastating effects of climate change. Kill Yourself.

You don't understand the difference between selectively breeding or genetically modifying a plant to suppress sexual reproduction vs. a plant not being pollinated?

I think you are just annoyed at finding out that "seedless pineapple" isn't a cultivar or anything special. Cute.

>GMO crops have had massive impact on food security around the world and allowed western countries to reach peak farmland, thereby returning it to forest, combatting the devastating effects of climate change. Kill Yourself.
Higher prices for corn and soy have led to the conversion of forest and native grasslands to farms. Are you retarded?

Perhaps that's the intent of B-corporations. Maybe with enough transparency things would work out.

happen upon them frequently enough.
problem is, smaller the seed, shittier the taste

lol'd

I am sure africa can grow shit. but theirlow iq has them searching diamonds in mines because they’re lazy and dumb, just like you.

the bone has tons of goodness

If we ended all GMO crops at the next harvest cycles, it would create a famine that would kill a few hundred million people.

If we went all organic on top of that, we'd kill well over a billion.

There would be wars, disease outbreaks, and massive financial crisis to accompany it.

Unless you're going to sterilize most of Africa, there will be no decreases in GMOS for the forseeable future.

I gave examples of reproducing plants without using seeds. I even gave an example of using cuttings to make new apple trees. I think you’re obviously picking one of my multiple examples to try to say I’m wrong when clearly i used an example of reproducing trees without growing them from seeds because you’re one of those twats who thinks he’s smarter than everyone else because he’s a militant atheist who spends most of his time on reddit.

It’s not cute. You’re a faggot.

Stop saying pits I'm getting a boner

We breed seedless watermelons and marijuana, why not avocados without pits? Or peaches without pits?

We don’t breed seedless weed, weed is a unique plant that has males and females. That’s not because of us. We simply remove the male plants before they have a chance to pollinate the female plants.

so you're just pretending like he didn't mention seedless watermelon I guess

I was under the impression seedless wagermelons were a result of selective breeding. I don’t see a point to bringing them up as I was only stating that weed being seedless isn’t a result of selective breeding.

>Being anti GMO is pretty much like being anti-vaccine. You should forfeit certain benefits if you are.
So much this. We should drop them in the ocean like Pinochet did with communists.

Yeah, I hate niggers too. Let Africa starve.

It's a great to ensure that people can't grow them at home. If you want them then you'll need to buy them.

Also that corporations are now patenting the DNA of mother nature which will eventually lead to a patent on human DNA, along with facial recognition data points and the controversy surrounding the deepfake app, and considering that test tube babies are becomimg more popular as gay marriage is accepted, then we're heading into an era of mail order babies where you can buy and choose the DNA of the baby and eventually we'll end up with a human race of the cheapest clones and they'll all be grey.

OK, I got carried away but still.

This post made me nut(s)

Nah, they will all look like Lilian Bowden even if they're male, and we won't have to worry about "dating up" or "dating down" anymore and even if we can't find a female we can always choose to be gay and it won't be gross

>I'm a mongoloid who has stabbed himself removing the stone
It's darwinism in effect spastic.

Literally none of this is true. We had plenty of food before GMOs. With GMOs, all of the countries that were starving before are still starving. The only thing GMOs have accomplished is creating another food related controversy. They were never needed. The only benefit is their profitability to the companies creating them.

>we had plenty of food before GMOs
We also had less than a third of the worlds current population, and many of the GMO crops are able to grow in places they otherwise could not. You’re not right.

we will all be gender neutral and sexual intercourse will be outlawed but still used extensively in advertising. go figure.

it's like there's money to be made by denying you something and selling it to you.

GMO crops are less nutritious than real crops so they may as well just eat the dirt cookies.

I don't mind GMO for crops that have heavy seeds

The problem is that we're blanketing the earth with frankenfoods that literally spread like the flu, so if a single particle of pollen should land on an otherwise pure field, you have a choice of burning it and giving everything to Monsanto lawyers, or just giving everything to Monsanto lawyers as-is

And of course if you talk about it you'll be drummed out of academia because they control all the endowments

>less nutrition is the same as no nutrition
wewlad

>frankenfoods
Pretty much everyone you eat has been changed a lot by farming practices compared to its wild counterpart. Words like this are just made up to scare people, I'd avoid using them if you want to make a good argument.
> so if a single particle of pollen should land on an otherwise pure field, you have a choice of burning it and giving everything to Monsanto lawyers, or just giving everything to Monsanto lawyers as-is
Apparently they offer to remove the plants if this happens, but yeah big companies will always engage in shady practices. They should be watched for that. But it doesn't have anything to do with GMO foods themselves, it's just about Monsanto specifically as a business which is kind of a separate issue.

You lost the argument there

>Pretty much everyone you eat
>everyone
>mfw
everything*

when you try to censor people you lose credibility and respect instantly and you are a massive faggot and i hate you sincerely.

There was no argument. You’re just a faggot.

>If we ended all GMO crops at the next harvest cycles, it would create a famine that would kill a few hundred million people.
Which GMO plants in use are saving the lives of hundreds of millions of people from starvation?

Rice, corn, wheat, and many others

In the U.K., surgeons report increasing numbers of avocado-related injuries. And emergency rooms in London have reported surges in such accidents. "It's a heavy price to pay for an Instagrammable brunch," notes the Independent.

[sweetie intensifies]

We're eating atoms.

Atoms are the building blocks of everything in the universe and the human body consists of around a billion billion billion atoms for every ten kilograms of body weight. That's a number with twenty seven zeros behind it. I'm about 60 kg so I have around:
6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
...atoms in my body. That's a pretty big number because that's a lot of atoms.
Each and every single one of those building blocks that make up my body came from the food that I've eaten throughout my lifetime. My body is literally made up of the food that I eat. You and me both.
You are what you eat.

I prefer to build and replenish my body, my mind, and my core essence with the natural goodness that was provided to me by Mother Nature. Not some genetically engineered frankenfruit potato that started life in a petri dish under a microscope laden with steroids and aids that cows can't even digest with their four stomachs and digestive enhancing holes that faggot scientists use to practice their fisting technique on.

So I say no NO to GMO.

Breeding is Genetic Modification

BTFO'd

...

it's wrong though

No it isn’t. You’re just dumb.

I am kind of iffy about seedless fruit, makes them more susceptible to dieing out. IIRC there is a fungus killing Cavendish bananas trees in record numbers.

Explain how Roundup Ready corn and wheat are saving 100s of millions of lives. Better yet, describe which GMO rice lines are actually in commercial usage.

>Lilian Bowden
No

GMO crops have massively increased yields (overall tonnage produced per acre) by being resistant to common ailments (pests, disease, glyphosate resistant) and increased the areas available to support crops (drought resistant, heat resistant, etc).

Those 'starving' countries you mentioned?
Have all more than doubled their populations.
The population of subsaharan Africa has multiplied 5.5x over in the last 50 years.
The UN projects a further 5-6x population growth over the next 50 years.

Agricultural production in a few key African nations actually fell massively in the 90s and 2000.
The Chinese are currently turning those trends around. They do it in a way that makes Africans miss the Europeans.
But whatever.

The point is, you're ignorant, uneducated retards with no real world grasp of world affairs or the matters on which you opine.
Go back to /a/ or your /sip/ threads.

selective breeding isnt the same as modifying a genome directly and i dont understand why everyone thinks otherwise

You didn't answer anything they said and just c/p'd some shit

Son, the earth is a flat disc. Now that I've said it it's true!

classic porn star

Go find it for yourself instead of acting like being ignorant is the same thing as being right.

People like you should be considered too stupid to live.

>GMO crops have massively increased yields (overall tonnage produced per acre) by being resistant to common ailments (pests, disease, glyphosate resistant)

The numbers being cited for increased productivity from the adoption of Bt-transgenic corn and other crops are invariably from 2005, a year considerably lower in insect infestations than previous surveyed years. The increased profit margins are from reduced insecticide use, not productivity. And we won't even discuss the issues with planting millions of acres with crops that are toxic to Lepidoptera, an order that contains innumerable key pollinators.

>and increased the areas available to support crops (drought resistant, heat resistant, etc).
Describe commercially-used GMOs with drought and heat tolerance that are currently being used. There are none. And you mean drought and heat tolerance, not resistance. You clearly don't understand the difference between these terms.

The rest of your post is basically saying we should prop up war-torn countries with unsustainable populations and birth rates. Yeah, sounds like a real long-term vision.

And agriculture fell in several African nations because of war and instability, not because they lacked GMO tech.

Like most people, you champion GMO crops based on mythic plant lines that literally do not exist commercially and beyond controlled lab or field tests.

I know which GMO crops are in use and what their selected traits are, you clearly do not. i.e. see:

>Like most people, you champion GMO crops based on mythic plant lines that literally do not exist, or if they do, they have never been available commercially and are restricted to controlled lab or field tests.

>the ability to use more glyphosate, Bt-transgenic cotton and corn (used for biofuel), and resistant papaya has saved 100s of millions of lives

Maybe look into what countries actually use or import GMO foods, what those crops are, and their end use. Waving your hands and saying GMOs saved the planet is absurd.

Pathetic samefag. You made a ludicrous claim and when someone asked you to verify your claim with proof you back down and throw insults.

Truly pathetic, and undeniable proof that eating GMO produce makes you dumb. Which suits most governments because they don't want anyone questioning their actions or motives.
DUDE. Smoke up, Johnny.

>muh carcinogenic crops are feeding the third world because every first world country rejects them because those countries care about their citizens and aren't owned by big agri/chemical.
Sure, if you're starving, you eat radioactive waste and the only first world country that permits slopping that shit in the populations' pig trough is the US. Keep supporting Agent Orange derivatives which were declared safe. The victims of that debacle sure got renumeration just like you will when you contract cancer in 20 years.

How many Monsanto and Dupont execs eat at the GMO pig trough with their families? Oops, none! Enjoy living in the US banana republic.

>GMOs are the only way to solve the coming food crisis

Holy shit, you GMO shills are worse than telemarketers and ambulance chasers. Go play in traffic blindfolded.

You’re a fag and you’re dumb and wrong. It’s not our job to make you learn.

no u

you shouldn't say thing you don't mean. and if you mean what you say you'd back it up with meaningful data.

>phone posting

opinion discarded by default. hidden saged reported etc.

>GMO shills
This isn't a thing, its just people saying basic logical, factually true things. You can't be a shill if you are just saying normal, factual things that all educated people know to be true, its like saying someone is a shill for gravity if they recognize that gravity is a thing, or calling someone a auto industry shill if someone points out cars are better than horses for transportation

>it's just people making things up to justify their poor choices and gmo addiction
Sorry you can't afford real food.

>only way
I can think of a couple of others...
