What is the name for this kind of knife?

What is the name for this kind of knife?

Pizza cutter.

Thanks!

lol its a bench knife not a pizza cutter

Lol, it's a dough scraper

I just call it "the retard knife."

It’s actually both.

you're all dumb as fuck, it's a putty knife

Shit, I used to use those when I worked at chuck e cheese. I miss those shitty pizzas.

thats called a board scraper and its not a knife

it's what jews call "a fucking scraper you stupid white prole."

Used to use these to clean dried dough from metal bakery benches, but were also used to cut the dough

The one I slit my wrists with.

I fill the holes in my sourdough with putty

Got one of these bad boys and I've been sharpening my knives now. They feel a lot better to cut stuff with now but I'm still paranoid that I'm using it wrong or unoptimally. Bestow me your wisdom Veeky Forums. Tell me all about how to sharpen your kitchen knives.

It's a bench scrapper, not a knife

thats for honing not sharpening

dough scraper/bench knife, perfect for shaping loaves of bread

cabinet scraper

it's a gasket scraper

Well I have a whetstone too.

yep it's a dough scraper

That's called a blade.

On the off chance the question wasn't entirely a giggle, run the pad of your thumb or a finger up against the edge to feel which side it's rolled over on and hone that side, keep doing that till you don't feel it turned over to either side.

Notta

Technically, depending on the coarseness of the honing steel, and how hard the steel of the knives are, a honing steel can actually be used both to sharpen and hone a knife blade.
Other than the ultra smooth finishing steels, most honing steels have sone type of lateral grooves along the honing steel, that act like a very fine file, but with the teeth running parallel along the length. Gently running a knife along theses “file teeth” can hone and straiten an edge, running a blade with high pressure along the honing steel will remove material and sharpen the edge. If the edge is really dull it will take forever to sharpen a knife though.
