you know what's a goat pairing with mango? shrimp fry paste. the purple bottle stuff you find in the asian food aisle. it's pungent, salty and briney and filled with umami. just a small dollop adds tremendous contrast to the sweetness of ripe mango or the acidity and astringency of an underripe or arsenic mango.
If you're allergic to poison ivy the mango skin can really make you sick. if you're not, you can eat it no problems. i eat the whole mango.
you can eat the peel assuming it's not a gook mango
if you like ammonia flavor, use the non sautéed shrimp fry

Real talk, I buy mangoes all the time specifically for this effect, and even I sometimes feel like I'm too high. Usually I don't finish the bowl until hours later because I just can't even.
It depends on which brands you get. I can do this with the one sold at Aldi (when in season anyway), but since they grow in a really humid, bug-ridden environment, the ones they sell at Wal-Mart and most other places are covered with a THICK layer of insecticides. So, uh, wash that shit twice.
I'm glad to see more people doing this, but I'm also a little worried the "mangoes = STONER FOOD" thing will become an evening news bit and suddenly I'll get dirty looks for buying fruit.
