Legit though, has anyone here tried to literally steam a ham into an edible state?

no, red- steamed red meat is gross, it turns it into mush.

sneed

No no, I don't mean red meat, I mean ham, as in from a pig

Meme adide, Montreal smoked meat, its like Canadian Pastrami. Its beef i know, but they are brined, smoked, then they are placed in steamers for serving, and cut to order. So if it was pork, it would pretty much be steamed ham. Look up Montreal smoked meat.

It's not actually steamed ham, that's just a colloquial term, like "the devil beating his wife".

Have you ever looked into how most cold cuts are produced?

White castles, and maybe crystal, steams their hams over a bed of onions

I did try it once; was bad (formerly edible)

This man.
And it's delicious

there is a fast food restaurant that supposedly simultaneously grills and steams their burgers by putting the patty on the grill, surrounding it with a little pool of water, and then capping it with a metal bowl shaped like a perfect hemisphere

Cook's country did a steamed ham tonigjt

Guys, not burgers. Hams. Literal hams from a pig.

i make turkey burgers and i steam them

Pork isn't red meat.

I do it in a crockpot all day. The fat rendering into a grease in the bottom makes a great gravy if you add a splash of cream. You need to seal it with foil though or youll end up with a dry unpleasent pork roast.

Its a good method to quickly melt cheese on a cheeseburger.

My hometown has been doing bit for over 50 years

Albany?

Utica

>Albany expression
>Utica

>red meat
hohoho nooo, steamed hams

It actually is. Breeders for the last half century have been trying to slim it down because of its image as a fattening food (lard ass, etc.) and even ran a widespread campaign in the 90s/early aughts of "Pork: The Other White Meat."

It's still a red meat.

I used to get them at Chuck's

I heard they changed the name to Sneed's

Exactly. They say it all the time in Albany.
