Spices

Which herbs/spices are most consumed in your household, Veeky Forums?

Oregano and dill, here, with the latter being criminally underappreciated, I find.

Salt. A LOT of fucking salt. I'm gonna die young.

agree with you heavily that dill is seriously underappreciated
personally i use a not-okay amount of paprika, caraway seeds and black pepper.
i feel like caraway is similarly underused but then again it's a stretch to use outside of germanic/surrounding area dishes

nice bernzomatic

Salt and pepper is assumed?
>garlic powder
>chili powder
>oregano
>paprika
>herbs de province

Salt isnt bad for you.

Celery salt is a personal favorite of mine, along with lemon pepper and parsley

Chili Powder
Cumin
Garlic
Onion powder (used because I cook for someone that can't stand the texture of cooked onions.)

also a shameful amount of cinnamon and cloves

Turmeric. Unironically.

For you.

cayenne
mustard powder
garlic
onion powder

Parsley
Oregeno
Rosemary

I fucking love rosemary, it's so underappreciated as well.

I'll try out dill

Salt
Fresh-ly ground black pepper
Pinch of cayenne

Rosemary and thyme are godly.

Same. Also bay leaf and oregano.

I make my own using these recipes I acquired from Veeky Forums

Pepper.

I felt like getting really good with herbs & oils is the difference between an okay cook and a fantastic cook. if you can create strong flavour profiles that can match the texture's of the food your making your golden.

>personally i use a not-okay amount of paprika

Does it still freak you out a bit at first when you see a big red shit in the toilet bowl?

Crushed hot chilis
Curry powder
Chili powder
Paprika
Thyme
Garlic
Onion powder
Ground ginger

Bay leaves in everything. I love the stuff.

Nutmeg, oregano, ground coriander seeds and ground cardamom.
Especially like how cardamom tastes like ginger without being brash about it.

I grow the oregano, parsley, basil, mint, rosemary and chives on my balcony.
Wish my climate could handle coriander.

Garlic salt, chili powder, white pepper.

Turmeric
Cayenne
Cloves
Alspice
Paprika
Cinnamon
Cumin
Coriander

For herbs I like thyme rosemary and oregano

fresh tarragon.
I hits you right in the face with a soft pillow.

Garlic powder
Salt
Paprika
Coriander
Chili powder
Cumin

I make paprikash and Mexican food a lot

I find anise to be very comforting. Especially anise bread.

I picked up some fresh dill for a soup, but haven't got around to using it yet. Do you find that it's an okay freezing herb? Should be growing it, I know.

Smoked paprika

I wanna grow some but it's hard to come across quality stuff

Black Pepper
Salt
Goya with Black Pepper
Coriander
Cajun Seasoning
Smoked Paprika
Mustard Powder
Oregano
Rosemary
Thyme
Nutmeg

Cardamom is slightly lemony as well, very nice spice but sadly underutilized by most outside of desserts. It beats ground ginger for me, only fresh of that will do.

that hasn't happened to me ever user
i want it to happen now

if you use garlic/onion powder you should remove yourself from the genpool

True but onion powder is useful for the sautéed to sweet flavor without the effort so it can help in a pinch.

I never used much paprika until a few months ago when I tried a chicken stew recipe which called for a lot of it. The stew was a success and I have been making it regularly since, but whenever I eat it my turds are bright red for the next day or two. It was a bit unnerving at first and still is somewhat.

It's addictive as are Greek basil and bergamot -- used with caution.

can you post the recipe please
genuinely want this to happen now

If you have high blood pressure and cholestral it can be bad for your heart once you turn 50. I have both but I got atleast 30 more years before I have to worry about it so whatever.

Quit complaining and eat your food.

Lol I hope this is real.

I use a lot of mustard, dill, and cayenne. I mean, I use a lot of spices, but I think I end up buying more of that than anything else. I go through dry mustard faster than anything else, though. A little is great in a whole lot of sauces, dressings, dips, and rubs.

>rosemary
>thyme
>cayenne powder
