>parents take me out for dinner for the first time in a year >suggest sushi >”forget about the old places, a new place opened recently that’s better than anything around” >$23 for pic related
Tfw your parents suddenly turn into old people and lose all sense of taste.
Looks pretty sloppily made. Bad cuts on the fish, stray grains of rice...

The absolute state of malenials

They've probably got one actual Japanese guy in the back and he's training a bunch of foreigners how to do it. All their food gets sent out to the dumb gaijins that won't know any better.
Fun fact. Most "red snapper" in the states is dyed tilapia...trust me. Japanese American and ran the top Asian restaurant in a certain state to know better.
Henry Jones
I'd eat the hell out of that but $23 is certainly insane.
Jackson Rodriguez
The ginger is just out of frame. The wasabi is mixed into the dish with the soy sauce because that’s how we roll in murrica. I have no problem with our sushi not being jiro tier authentic, but when the fish isn’t the best and the small portions are sloppily put together at mid-high range prices there’s definitely a problem.

What city/town is this in?

$4/ piece honestly not that expensive but at that price it should be better

>parents take me out for dinner >go to China restaurant >dad loudly telling stories about how they used to throw ice balls as Chinese people >mom questions if the duck she ordered is actually real duck >mom keeps calling the waitress rude .>dad is demanding tartar sauce for his shrimp and yelling TAR-TAR, DO YOU HAVE TAR-TAR
It was actually closer to half of that ($23 for a 10 piece “ chef’s selection” nigiri).
Kayden Foster
$23 for that? I swear the sushi at my local savemart is made more neatly than that did it at least taste good?
Michael Howard

>go to sushi place with brother and sister in law >not really into seafood and the idea of eating raw fish kinda disgusts me >they apparently have some fried sushi roll shit >might as well >eat it >it's kinda sweet >eat the raw sushi to make sure >also kinda sweet
Yuck. I mean, it's not awful and I ate it all but it's definitely something i wouldnt pay for unironically

You didn't pay for it ironically, you were just bullied into it.
Jonathan Davis
