All I know how to make is a grilled cheese, what's the next step up on the cheap and easy food ladder? Not including ridiculously easy stuff, i.e boiling pasta, soup out of a can, etc.
Pic unrelated.

Ask your mommy to teach you, kid.

pan frying

scrambled eggs, french toast, fried rice, if you can afford ground beef tacos are pretty easy and tortillas are cheap. french fries, mashed potatoes, bean soup from a bag, you can also take the bean soup from the bag, take the flavor packet out, and add a big ass can of peeled tomatoes to make chili. if you have like $10 go to your local discount retailer (eg ocean state job lot, big lots, aldi, etc) and buy a handful of spices for like a dollar apiece. chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, red chili flakes, and oregano are all nice to have and you can make most cheap shit foods taste good with them

Panko tilapia. Buy the frozen variety, it thaws out in about 5 minutes in cold water, love the individual packaging as well. Shallow vegetable oil in pan, beaten egg, AP flour, panko breadcrumbs and your choice of generous seasoning applied to the flour. Dip fish in flour, then egg, then panko, pressing to adhere the flour and panko respectively. Medium-high heat but not too high so it doesn't instantly brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. It will be cooked through but it's a cut that doesn't dry out very easily. Pair with tartar or tzatziki. Tartar will be mayo/greek yogurt/sour cream, lemon juice, shallot, dill pickle, dillweed, salt and pepper, tzatziki replace pickle with cucumber. If in a bind you can use pickle juice in place of lemon in the tartar, or a splash of vinegar for either.

everyone will say eggs and that's probably about right

Wraps desu. Whether it's a shrimp taco or a breakfast burrito, learn to properly prep and cook the contents and then feel free to start experimenting.

whatever you want desu, just about everything has an online recipe. After you make it once adjust it to your liking. If you can't follow instructions on the internet idk what to tell you

>fried rice after french toast
Way to set him up to fail.

>breakfast burrito
Oooh hell yeah. What's a good recipe? Egg, sausage, potato, cheese, salt n' pepper?

Meant to say mix, not recipe.

Make eggs without it sticking to the pan

start with boiling pasta, and warming a jar of store bought tomato sauce in a small pot, at the same time
if you can manage two pots on the stove simultaneously you will become a great cook one day

also since you already know how to fry, try making eggs with bacon, either scrambled or fried

Pancakes from scratch
Poached egg sammy
Omelettes
Quesadilla
Almost anything pasta

Fried rice or meatloaf.

Hell yeah, you can also add onions, beans, bell peppers, salsa, hot sauce, sour cream, really it's hard to go wrong

Pretty sure they were laughing at you because of your terrible grammar.

Croque Monsieur
