In the water? No, a rolling boil will prevent the pasta from sticking. Give it 2 or so stirs while its cooking and you won't have any issues

this. If you finish your pasta in the sauce you're actually preventing the pasta from sucking up some of the juice by coating them in oil

my nonna always said to season the water with salt, until it was as salty as the mediterranean. but you get much more flavour into your pasta by using a knorr stockpot. some say you can't buy flavour: i disagree. you should try it.

Two expert chefs give different opinions on this

okay so i figure i could make some decent psta by cooking it in some vegetable stock. question though. do i still use this stock after boiling the pasta in it to make soup?

keep the water, because what do we have? Stock with starch. So when you’re making a stew, or a soup, you can use that water.

no

Madness.

yes, gordan ramsay does.

Can you boil your pasta in the sauce?

huh?

you probably could but not exactly what I meant.

When I make bolognese I'll drain my pasta around 30 seconds short of al dente, leave in some water and pour in the sauce and stir it for a bit until it's done

you can but it would be more prudent to cook it on a simmer

No but saute plenty sliced garlic red pepper flakes in saute pan with one third cup evoo while pasta is cooking saute gently till garlic is golden . When pasta is aldente drain but do not rinse spag add to oil with a touch of the starchy cooking water stir add salt pepper and shit load of good grated cheese Voila "aglio e olio" mmmmm

loser

what the fuck is wrong with you ppl?
salt the water, bring water to a rolling boil, cook pasta, drain and mix with sauce. No oil in the water . no knorr chicken cubes in the water and no rinsing the pasta with water.

huh?

Wait what the fuck which one of these is the truth?

neither

I put oil on the water to stop the water from sticking to the pan.

tomato and cream sauces both become noticeably shittier when boiled instead of simmered

Firstly the first one is an advert for those fucking stockpots.

Second, he puts fucking cream in fucking carbonara, and should therefore not be trusted on anything

Wording this. Makes it much easier to drain.

the only truth there, is his Knorr
