Hell, Chinese armor is so ubiquitous, spastic Chinese-Hating Vietnamese nationalists don't realize they illustrate their heroes in Song Dynasty armor. Mongolia's dress uniform is based on the Yuan period Armor which was essentially just an evolution of the Song one.

Chinese armor (well, to be specific, Táng and Song period armor) is to East Asia what the Greco-Roman Armor is to the West: it's classical.
