If Muslims do not worship Muhammad because he is not divine but a man, then why is creating images of Muhammad so forbidden?

because it's like a saint not divine but saint

They are scared people will worship the pictures

It's not forbidden

They are scared people will worship pictures of Muhammad so instead they treat him even more divinely by considering creating pictures of him to be blasphemous.

Seems more reasonable. Do they apply this to Moses and Isaiah and other prophets too?

Yeah that's pretty much it
>Do they apply this to Moses and Isaiah and other prophets too?
Yup and to god

creating images of any human being is strictly haram in muslim theology

then how comes isis makes videos?

The same way they kill other muslims

This with a the context being Big M had a great fear of being deified and have his message corrupted like what happened to Jesus.

To prevent muslims from worshipping Muhammad.

As soon as you start allowing statures/pictures of your prophet people will begin to idolise him and worship him.

It is true to be fair but Sunnis take it to the extreme with no drawings of any humans, thats ridiculous and isn't found in the quran.

Regardless humans desire to worship idols rather than God will always find a way and Muslims are no exception. They cant draw him, so they make themselves look just look him, and try to act like him, its another form of idolatry. They also hold him to be perfect and infallible which he himself said he was not.

well, technically it isn't about creating the pictures but idolizing them. it's just almost impossible to draw religious figurines without someone doing that.

As other anons said, it's not explicitly forbidden. There you can find a few examples of Muhammad in Islamic art:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depictions_of_Muhammad#Figurative_visual_depictions

Using musical instruments is haram.

>why is creating images of Muhammad so forbidden?
It isn't.
>they treat him even more divinely by considering creating pictures of him to be blasphemous.
Doesn't follow.
It isn't.
It isn't.

Glad we could get this settled.

Modern Wahabist retards take it to extremes, but the rule itself does make sense. Look at Catholics and Mary worship.

but this doesn't match the reactions muslims have when they see images of muhammad.

angry muslims aren't complaining "hey, don't do that or you might start worshipping muhammad"

they're saying "It is deeply offensive to me that you would create an image of muhammad"

Well, it's been agreed upon inside the religion not to do it, so there's not really a need to say "don't do that or you'll worship Muhammad"
It's mostly non-Muslims who do it, and to the Muslims, us making images of Muhammad when they've explicitly told us they don't want to see pictures of him is really fucking offensive
It's like when a fundamentalist says that saying God in anything other than prayer or worship is forbidden, and you start going "God damn it, God damn it, God damn it, God damn it, God, God, God, God damn it" to spite them
They don't let that shit doesn't fly

No, but artwork depicting humans and living beings is considered somewhat less pious, hence why Islamic art has so much calligraphy and geometrical patterns. The thought goes that God is the one true creator of all life, so painting a mosque with murals depicting life is rather arrogant. Like going to a master carpenter's shop and displaying your childhood wood carvings next to his masterpieces.

Of course, almost nothing is true for "all muslims", so plenty of mosques display life scenes to this day, especially in Iran, where pre-Islamic culture is still very historically significant.

Depicting images of any religious figure is seen as idol worship

It's a result of Islam cropping up amongst rampant Christian iconography. A knee-jerk reaction to it.

that's probably another reason why they don't do it, because they're also worried that his image will be corrupted if they allow it to be drawn

lol Muslims need to learn about subcreation

It's literally okay and natural for us to depict life because we are children made in the image of the creator.

The more I know about islam, the more I realized how fucked up this religion is.
First of, Sunni are clearly the worst bunch, since they venerate huge assholes : the first caliphs.

Now the Quran itself is supposed to be the word of God and is universal...but the fact some sourates were created specificly for the prophet proves otherwise.
Like when Muhammad wanted to fuck the wife of his adoptive son, suddently, he revealed new surah.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaynab_bint_Jahsh
>We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. And Allah's command must be fulfilled.

This is fucked up...

>Glad we could get this settled.
Except it's not settled because not everyone here agrees with you you absolute fucktard. An hero.
