Hey guys, I am from /toy/...

Hey guys, I am from /toy/, thought you might like to hear about a new line of Figures from Bossfight Studios - it's a line of Greek Warriors and Mythical beasts. (vitruvian HACKS)

Anyway, I have a few and was wondering if you could help me, I want to customise my Spartans so that they are really accurate.

Pic related, the base Figure for the Spartan.

More shots

...

You could start by exchanging those swords for a shield and spear. Hardly any real warriors in history used dual swords except I think some Indonesians or Cambodians or something

...

...

>only corinthian helms

why not vikings?

Greeks > vikings

>you must be 18 or older to post on this site

> I want to customise my Spartans so that they are really accurate
Throw them from a cliff.

no

What are these?

Wew

This is what I have done for one of them So far, grimes him up and given him a skirt thing..

...

...

All corinthian style greek helms.

that's gay

Lol I know collecting toys is sad but hey, not the end of the world.

What kind of pouches / bags would these guys have had? A sleeping roll?

Where can I get this S A X O N S T R O N K figurine

Is that's true Greek helm then? Looks ugly as fuck lol

Whats wrong with collecting things?
Model not a figurine. Comes unpainted.

something to pour that cum from their butthole to. unless their comrades just licked it off.

condom helmets are the best helmets

Get yourself some Osprey books, they are pretty accurate.

This is why we can't have nice things.

...

Jesus Christ, casually sacrificing a sheep while arrows rain all over the fucken place

...

...

You should also make one in a spolas aka linothorax

Heres how your average spartan would look

With armor of course. Depends on what Era you want too. It changes what helmet was used

...

wow there are illyriano types and phrygian types and boetian types and thracian types and the pileus types and the chalcidian types. are the only helet's available for those models corinthian type?

illyrian* sorry

But my point is there wasn't just one helm being used during any era and its annoying seeing it shown like that.

Yeah true I get you man

Cheers for all the help guys, they also did Leonidas

Athenian Warriror

A North African one

Also medusa and stuff, check em out here

WE WUZ GREEKZ AND SHIET

That lamellar is pretty cool but not historical.

That nigga needs a beard

>North African
>black

Pick one.

>sword on his left while using a big shield means to be deployed in a shield wall

Fix it

Nigga that's how they were look at the scabbard in this pic. Also this one

This

Bruh please educate yourself

Wait nevermind im thinking of romans that did that, my bad

>Teaching this /toy/ peasant about helmets
>Not posting the best Greek helm of all

user pls.

Finally someone with good taste

>Leonidas
>he has a mustache

yeah, no. One of the Codes of Lycurgus that dictated Spartan life mandated the shaving of the upper lip.

Can you give me a source on that, I can't really find anything online

books.google.co.uk/books?id=NkJCAAAAIAAJ&lpg=RA1-PR2&ots=Nrht_OTjEH&dq=‘shave their upper lip and obey the law’.&pg=RA1-PR2#v=onepage&q&f=false

Was going to post that helm but went to go have lunch

WE

WUZ

I honestly started to prefer the openfaced illyrian helmet, but that could be a biased choice caused by me being a pseudoslav

Is that a lybian one from Cyrenaica?

HOPLITES N SHIT

That's not a figure of Spartan, but a figure of a caricature of Spartan.

Absolutely disgusting.

take off his shoes and armor, grease his hair, give him a shield and a spear, make the sword much smaller (spartans were proud of using small swords and still whooping everyone's ass with it), give him some flashy clothes to intimidate his enemies and make sure at least 12 other dudes fucked his bald wife

give him a water jug

Thoughts?

>thracian

>thraco-attic

>illyrian

>pilos

nice free advertisement

Why did they think it was more necessary to cover shins than it was to cover thighs?

"'ello señor would you trade that tarp for some pit bull puppies"

They're not reliable at all, user.

Spartan arms were state-issued.

THey used one type, and it ended up being the pylos.

Is actually accurate.
You crouch a bit when fighting. His thighs would be protected by the shield.

See that cloth under the shield? It's to deflect arrows going at the legs.
Maybe in the crush of battle it's hard to poke someone in the thigh.

Well also the armor could be much longer to cover part of the thighs. The shield would cover from the helmet to the greaves

kawaii twintails

>those heads
twintail is justice

Since you got multiple heads try shaving off his mustache. Spartans had long hair and beards with no mustache

When the fuck did /toy/ get added?

Not interested

Give him an armor for god's sake and get rid of the sword

Bruh they used swords

Yeah but I doubt they dual wielded as much as these figures suggest. It's a backup weapon.

Yeah but they still used swords

Hey OP I want to start a collection of Late Medieval/Early Modern knights and soldiers for display. What are some good shops and higher-end brands? Something that's ready to use do to speak, I can't paint or anything.

is this primarily what the roman helmet took its design inspo from?

No, Romn helmets were a copy of celtic montefortino helmets.

Anyone played this game? What didya think of the helmets in it?

>300 BC to 1st Century AD
Okay but where did the Montefortino design originate from?

pleb

Hallstatt/La Tene shit?
