Who was better: Templars, Hospitallers, or Teutons?

Who was better: Templars, Hospitallers, or Teutons?

Hospitallers purely due to them surviving into the modern era as a Catholic order.

Teutons. They killed dirty Slavs.

Templars were the most powerful and got shit done for the Crusade. They only have one notable screw up. When their commander in the holy lands pressed for an immediate attack. Instead of resting the men, getting more water and supplies, and getting better intel on the Sarcens armies.

French King and the Pope screwed them and the Crusades over some debts and threat to papal power.

All of them.

>“When we look back upon Western warfare as it was before the introduction of firearms, of the differences we see, the one which most boldly stands out is the precedence of valor over cunning. It is out of valor that European history rises: the spear and the sword, and not, as in Asia, the bow and arrow, are its symbols. The bravest and not the most crafty are the leaders of men, and it is their example rather than their skill which dominates the battle.”

Mud bloods BTFO.

The Knights of the Teutonic Order are still a thing bruh.

Templars because they were diverse.

This makes me kind of glad they don't exist anymore just so this could never be real.

>so this could never be real
?

Hospitallers have cooler uniforms, but Templars have better history.

They're cucks though

Hospitallers

Hospitallers for their bravery against the Turk.

All of them are good, wicked as a sik skateboard trick, balls to the wall, mudslime killers.

No but to be fair, all of 'em. I reckon the Teutons looked cooler though..

>They're cucks though
That's not an argument or explanation of anything. This is Veeky Forums. Use specific details, not meme words you motherfucking tripcode cocksucker

I like the history of the Teutonic Order even if they spent most of their time being a money drain
Hospitallers are probably the most successful

Templars are the most iconic. Teutons were probably the most successful. Hospitallers were politically smart in the sense that they didn't clash with the local lords to the extents of the Templars or the Teutons to the point where they'd be eradicated, however, they were also comparably unambitious.

please do not derail every thread you see into a balkan-armo turk hate thread.

The Mahdis were the greatest religious warriors of all time.
>beat the British Empire at its height
>outplayed and defeated the most famous war hero of the victorian era
>Brits need the help of 100,000 Egyptians to defeat them

Honestly, other than the Hospitallers for Rhodes and Malta the rest of the world doesn't even come close.

Hospitallers, we're talking about the Knights of St. John right?

If so definitely them.

> Spend a century defending Rhodes from the Turks

> Eventually have to leave, given fucking Malta and Tripoli

> Spend more years fighting off Turkish raids, lose Tripoli

> Turks attack Malta with an army many, many times the size of the knight's (around 40000 men) and their small contingent of Maltese peasants and Italian mercenaries in two small forts (amounts to about 6000).

> Things get so bad that wounded knights strap themselves to chairs on the battlements of one of the forts and fight until they drop.

> Turks lose 6000 men and their best general, but eventually take one of the forts and kill a few hundered knights, they then surround the second fort with around 60 siege guns.

> Manage to blow a hole in the walls, attack but are held, and then driven back by a cavalry charge in their rear.

> Turks completely demoralized and then a relief force from Sicily arrives after the Knights held out for almost four months.

None. It was their disease, plagues and such that reigned supreme to their swords.

Battle of Omdurman? 47 British, Sudanese and Egyptian dead and 382 wounded. 12,000 Mahdists killed, 13,000 wounded, 5,000 captured. They got their shit kicked in. In the entirety of the campaign the Mahdists took 30,000 casualties compared to 700 British/Sudanese/Egyptian. They were incredibly brave I'll admit, twice breaking British infantry squares, but charging maxim machine guns with spears and swords is pretty fucking stupid

>Teutons
>Stir shit for a couple of centuries with all neighbours, christian or pagan
>Get btfo'd by a makeshift alliance that half consisted of Lithuanians who have no idea how to even fight in a actual battle, the other half being bickering nobles

The Knights of St.Lazarus.

Teutonic order was a bunch of germans "crusading" next door, when Templars and Hospitaliers did the real thing

All memeing aside the Hospitalliers could have had a few black guys running around.

>inb4 we wuz crusaders

If by the 'real thing' you mean throwing their lives away in worthless pursuit of glory in God's name then perhaps. The Teutons were probably more effective in achieving their objectives. The Templars learnt from the jews how to run a sick economy and how to build finance into the infrastructure of a nation though.

>tfw Temple Bruer one of the last forts of teh Templar order in Britain came up for sale recently and my parents had a look but got discouraged.

They shouldn't even kill them in the first place.

If there is one country that held christian values the most, it's Poland. Like it or not.

The Teutons colonized/civilized the entire Baltic coast and made the North German towns in Poland prosper. On top of that they spike a form of German which is linguistically closer to modern Dutch than modern German. Shame how the language got lost because it would be absolutely fantastic if the Prussian spoke Dutch.

...

>made the North German towns in Poland prosper.
They prospered the most under PLC.

Also
>north german towns
nice meme

>What is the Hansa

Slavs funded the Teutonic crusades you dumb cuck. Konigsberg was named that way in honor of the Czech king.

Poland jumped in to save it's fuck buddy, perhaps the Lithuanians shouldn't go helping rebellions

It's not even Turk hate. Malta's a pretty heroic siege and even before then they nearly were able to withstand the Turkish siege or Rhodes. The Hospitallers were masters of siege defense.

Also, the first academy in Konigsberg was funded by Polish king and elites of it were Polish.

Those facts are ignored though.

But the Czech king was a cuck for Germans

Teutons were excommunicated by pope.

More like the other way around. He was one of the most powerful rulers in the HRE.

>Teutons were the boys next door

Only to shit on teutons harder desu

It's not a trip though, anyone can cuck him.

What the fuck did you just fucking say to me you fucking cunt?

Ottokar II was an exception. He was called golden and iron king for a reason.

Oh shit it's been taken by the Danes

That isn't even a German Pickelhaube

The Teutons were the only ones who achieved anything lasting

>Says Templars

The white was only worn by full knights, their sergeants, squires etc wore black or brown.

>Mud bloods
