Interesting question. On one hand, dressing well is a journey, and you're going to make mistakes along the way. Starting this journey now, when you're still fat, there are a few advantages:

- you'll already have developed your eye by the time you're fit enough for it to matter, so you won't waste as much time later
- by experiencing two different body types, fat and not-fat, you'll have a better understanding of how clothes fit
- you'll get over your feat of looking stupid or posting a bad fit, since they'll all be received negatively anyway

However, if what you are after is real excellence, I think we would mostly agree that you should forget about your clothes for now. Wear one pair of sweatpants every day, stop browsing Veeky Forums, go to Veeky Forums, and find the DNP general. As you burn in hellfire you should have room in your thoughts only for fitness and diet. the thought of clothes should serve only increase your hunger desperation and self-loathing. then in X months or years, when you return from your self-imposed exile, you'll have earned a good body, which is important for fits. But more importantly, you'll derive a kind of confidence and character from your experience, something that's evident in your posture and the way you dress, a feeling that you deserve to look good because you earned it with your suffering. you can let that experience of transformation set you apart or you can be just another pasty skinnyfat guy that dresses kinda preppy. your choice.
