I live in the south and it's pretty unbearable to wear any kind of jeans/pants starting around mid May. But I look like a goober in shorts because I have long thin legs.

I'm thinking of copping a pair. Sometimes, covering your skin with loose material feels far better than leaving it bare.

I should've clarified. I really only like wearing skinny anything anymore, usually with stretch. Is there anything summer-wise in that department or am I out of luck?

They don't have to be incredibly loose. Skinny, light materials should work, too.

Linen pants are the king for summer. If you can't find some, at the very least get light colored cotton pants WITH AN OPEN WEAVE. Chinos and jeans trap heat because their tight twill weave doesn't allow air to flow through it (and most jeans are heavy weight, too).

Skinny pants are also shitty for the heat, loose fit is the way to go. Think - if you're trying to walk through a door to high five someone on the other side, can you push through the door if he's standing right beside it? You need some room for the door to actually swing open.
