Fragrance General
What is your guys' every season signature fragrance?
I would say mine is either pic related or Tom Ford GV.
I want to smell unique without smelling terrible
Hit me up with some suggestions
This stuff
If you don't have a bottle of this shit in your collection, you're fucking up badly.
That stuff reminds me of wood and circuit boards. Not bad, definitely unique.
mfw I'm planning on buying 10 bottles this summer.
Yes, 10.
hated it, and 53 too.
>signature
if you mean what I wear most often (but these aren't my absolute favorites)
>spring/summer
Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa
>fall/winter
Serge Lutens Five o'Clock au Gingembre
Voyage d'Hermes is my only year-round scent, but I don't wear it as often as the ones above
Hermes Eau de Gentiane Blanche (warm weather)
Etat Libre d'Orange The Afternoon of the Faun (year-round)
Slumberhouse Pear & Olive (year-round)
Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan (cool weather)
looking for something to wear regularly. so something kinda universal I guess.
price range: $70 or less
I don't really have any particular notes in mind. open to anything pleasant & subtle.
any suggestions? thanks.
i bought One Million and i like it. I don't really know anything about fragrances tho.
I'm looking for something a bit more masculine and dark. Any recs??
One Million is nice after about 2 hours of wear, but everyone is wearing it
Erolfa in the summer
mah nigga
>Erolfa
it took me awhile to appreciate, but it's a wonderful scent and very masculine for a citrusy aquatic. really underrated among Creed scents, too, as i rarely see it mentioned and gets more mixed reviews than their others on Fragrantica and Basenotes. imo only GIT and Himalaya are clearly better from that house

what are the best selling fragrances of all time that are still being sold?
Le Male
Chanel No. 5
Been rocking la nuit de l'homme by yves st laurent. I personally love it but I've been getting mixed reviews from others.
My previous scent was classic varvatos which got mad compliments, got boring though
GOD TIER
CAT PISS
SOAPY PISS BUT ITS P FRESH
I like it better more than platinum egoist, that soapy dry down is annoying.
>This is my next buy
I blind bought a bottle of this shit. It just sits there with one spray missing. It literally smells like cat piss. I don't know why anyone would want to smell like this.
Try Spicebomb or Bvlgari Man in Black. It's like replacing 1M's citrus with booze.
Never saw what people liked in this. Every time I smelled this I got the image of potpourri dunked in stale lemonade.
Good job. It's like a mentholy sweet smell on a Le Male base. One of my gems.
As someone who thinks a lot of fragrances smell like piss, I don't get it from this at all. Granted, I'm more familiar with an old summer flanker I have.
Really liked all three of the fragrances I sampled from the Verdúu range. I bought this one as a gift.
Do any of you have any favourite ~local~ or smaller perfume labels?
Why did you create a new thread instead of the guy who usually does it?
Next time wait for the bump limit and at least post the infograph...
I've yet to really find a year-round signature. I live in the southeast U.S. where it gets really hot and humid in the summer, and then decently cold in the winter.
If I had to pick one, it would be Dior Sauvage. I don't wear it on extremely hot/humid days, but other than that I think it works well in all seasons.
tfw i want to get into amouage but the few frags ive smelled are just shitty arab garbage and other than the 3 i smelled there is no way i can sample them
what do
sample more and stop choosing your frags based on the house they come from.
which three? and try Dia Man, Reflection Man, and Silver if you haven't already
Mine is Rose 31. It's fresh and sweet (but never cloying!) in the summer and woody and warm and comforting in the winter.
Generally I always liked switching up my frags from season to season, preferring light citrusy scents in the summer and gourmands for winter, but this is one of the first I find works year round.
bow down to your king, anons
nigga rose 31 smells like shitty indian curry
I want to try this one. Did you try any other scent of Amouage?
>Amouage
>shitty arab garbage
go for it, user. it never lets go of your attention when smelling it and constantly changes
Hello /frag/general,
Any experience or opinions on solid colognes?
I'm soon to go on a jaunt around europe for a few weeks and am intrigued by the idea of liquid-less scents; would certainly remove the hassle glass bottles and liquids add to packing and traveling these days.
They seem fedora to me, but I can't deny the practicality of them,or at least the idea of them. Lighter, no chance of breaking or spillage and they get around the checked-in liquid limits.
But do any of them actually smell nice?
How about
>"do they smell nice for what they are: a compromise in the name of pragmatism?"
Or is it all just shit?
How expensive are those?
I knew hippies who would mix herbs and coconut oil to rub on themselves and they seemed to like it.
30-40 bucks or so seems to be about the average.
>I knew hippies who would mix herbs and coconut oil to rub on themselves and they seemed to like it.
I would imagine that one could just recreate that shit at home, the one in the pic, alfred lane, only uses natural waxes and oils.
But apparently then with these kinds they retain that base waxy/earth scent.
There's some other brand that does away with the waxes and nature shit and is pure scent.
They're meant to last for ages, and apparently you only need very little in regards to application.
Never tried that shit, just what I've read which is why I'm asking here.
>I would imagine that one could just recreate that shit at home
Oh yeah, and it seems like it would be a major hassle. I certainly couldn't be fucked experimenting with a whole bunch of shit.
What's a good fragrance to go with a leather jacket wearing guy who is dark and mysterious?
Post some best cheap fragrances
...
Let me ask this to the perfume notes experts and shit, I'm looking for a scent I smelled a very long time ago in a place like pic related, pine woods like those, the ground covered with branches, dried leaves and dried pine fruits.
As I walked through I'd get this smell, not damp or fresh, not really green either, I'd say it was woodsy, but like incense. I don't know if it was one distinct smell or the combination of the trees, branches, moss, etc.
Anyone knows what could that smell be? And maybe what perfume has that vibe. Thanks for any response.
Diesel Plus Plus Masculine
stop being poor fucker ive sampled every cheap fragrance this planet has to offer and theyre mainly synthetic and boring
SLUMBERHOUSE NORNE
My fav scent out of the limited stuff I've tried.
lol. right? Veeky Forums dopes think price equals quality.
Angel men. My brother wanted the same thing as you and i recommended that. He loved it
agree most amouage ive smelled is complete dubai trash
>pricey frags are shit
sounds like sour grapes to be honest
I'm looking for something that smells metallic and run down. Like the outside of an abandoned mill after it rains.
and
>Greenbriar 1968
The closest you will get.
If you hate middle east scents I have no idea how you can possibly imagine liking Amouage.
I have Jub, Interlude, Memoir, Reflection and Epic. Hate Gold, Fate, Beloved. Honor, Lyric and Dia are meh. Looking forward to trying Journey and Myths.
I like the house but I'd be the first to admit that they have their own share of misses. Same as everyone else, regardless of price tier.
>they have their own share of misses. Same as everyone else, regardless of price tier.
So which brands/houses does /frag/ think have the highest hit rates?
Thank you!
Hermès
Diptyque
Frederic Malle
Tom Ford
Acqua di Parma
Serge Lutens
Np babe
Odeur 71 is a good deal since it's $135 for 200 ml, meaning you can spray on a bit extra without worry. It really has a nice green/woodiness with something metallicness/inkiness
Greenbriar is straight up described as: "
It is blended with Sawdust, Fresh Cut Hay, Worn Leather Work Gloves, Pipe Tobacco and a healthy amount of Dirt. There is also a faint whiff of cotton overalls covered in Axel Grease..."
So, you tell me, cutie.
You're too sweet, user.
That does sound pretty nice. I used to live in rural utah and just the description makes me remember how it smelled.
And, honestly, the most expensive cologne I've ever paid for was some old spice at walmart. Just looking to expand a little. If you think that's a cologne that warrants the price, I'll take your word for it.
Make sure you sample, it's always integral you try something before you buy it!
I love you, sweetie. Hope you find what you're looking for :3
...
I have a couple drops of Homage left. Luckily that will last me quite a while. And nice to see someone share the view that every single house, regardless of cost, has its good and bad scents.
Bvlgari and Guerlain when it comes to affordable brands
I love you too, user. Thank you.
What's that smell that all the department stores and some clothing stores (e.g. Banana Republic) has?
They all have some sort of subtle cedar/sandalwood/some sort of spice (red pepper?) mix going on.
Is there a way to get that as a home scent without having to burn candles all day?
Le labo has some nice ones but desu I've been travelling for ten weeks through Europe with three sample sized vials of EDPs and they're nowhere near being finished. Kilian has really pretty travel bottles but a regular spray vial that g et from luckyscent or sephora or wherever would be fine too
There are traditional diffusers (like Jo Malone), contemporary diffusers (like the hourglass or electronic diffusers from Diptyque and Tom Dixon's charcoal diffuser) and the option of incense (e.g. Fornasetti, Frederic Malle). In chain stores they likely use something like a linen spray or a mix of oils diffused through the ventilation.
Speaking of Amouage Epic. Can anyone identify the slightly sour medicinal green note it has? Is it a single note or just a combination of everything? It's like a synthetic oud but sharper and wetter.
lush has some decent solid perfumes for men
Comme des Garçons Amazingreen anyone? Just bought it and I'm feeling kinda meh about it. It's really, really subtle IMO... Maybe too subtle
>Lush
Implying you can discern smells in that sensory fuckfest
Read ingredients
Get tumblr hippie with facial antennas to give you sample thimbles while rambling about how she saw brand new live
take them home
smell them there
What were you expecting from a watery/green scent?
The most apt description of Bond No. 9 Chinatown that I've read is "smells like the inside of the Lush store".
Wearing Armaf Club de Nuit Man Intense today because I gave my bottle of Aventus to my dad on Father's day.
CDNMI is not even close to Aventus. Not at the opening, and not at drydown. I don't even know whether Armaf intend for this to be a clone, it's so far off. It's not horrible after it settles down for half an hour, but it's no Aventus.
To salvage the wear, I've added a few sprays of La Yuqawam. Together, CDNMILY actually layer very nicely.
...
I only sampled Myths, Memoir, Reflection and it is one of the best scents I´ve tried. At first I didn´t like it that much but I appreciated it more over time
Does Guerlain make a good fragrance for warm weather/summer memes?
I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing
Homme
Homme L'Eau Boisee
Vetiver
some of the Aqua Allegoria series are unisex
What's the longevity of Homee L;eau Boisee?
Acqua di gio profumo. Your signature scent/ every season scent should be something that girls love , relatively cheap, and popular.
What's something that a flamboyant evil bond villain would wear?
Divin' Enfant
Thank you again.
No problem, babe. I hope you like it
Which one should I get to attract girls better?
Which one do you guys prefer? How does the intense and parfum versions compare to the first?
lanuite dell home
im gonna buy invictus, but still deciding summer edit or not
don't buy invictus are you retarded
what else do you recommend to a 18y old guy to get pussy? thats what grills like(i live in a spanish town so...)
GOAT
Intense Intense Intense
Why not?
1). Girls are crazy for it on a man
2) Great projection and last long
3) Cheap price
4) The hype of it is over and it's not overly popular anymore
5) It's an all season type of cologne, perfect for an everyday scent
6) Gives off a bad-boy type of vibe
what do you recommend?
L'Homme Ideal by Guerlain
Gentleman Only Casual Chic by Givenchy
meh
yes
yes
no, hype is still here
meh
no way in hell
I really don't like invictus, it smells like something made in a lab
I wish I didn't spend 50 dollars this week on a bunch of samples because I really really want a bottle of Armani Code Profumo and I'm freaking broke
but if that is what grills like... jesse we have to cook
