Are we at risk of this happening?

Its been a problem since ancient greece and i think their solution was starting a dictatorship.

"WHY DO PEOPLE DISAGREE WITH ME" Thread #99953, Hitler OP edition

Just put a fucking IQ test to vote. You need 120 or more, or you can't vote. There you go, easy solution. Literally. Find 1 flaw.

...

...

Monarchy
Nobody votes
>Literally. Find 1 flaw.
Voting

What does IQ have to do with being able to be good at picking good politicians? You realise high IQ has increasing chance of having high levels of autism? Is your aim to just have autists vote?

>Literally. Find 1 flaw

Actually applying it.

No one would vote.

You did notice he wasn't glorifying Trump right?

Doesent matter, its modern politics so it doesent belong here. Though the other poster shouldnt have even asked because it risks this thread of derailing to retarded directions.

So instead of electing retarded dictators you just want retarded inbred dictators to inherit the throne?

>being this autistic

This situation is fucking stupid and both you and OP are stupid. People don't need to be intelligent to vote, they need context. Lower working class voters usually have the most context and the most knowledge of the direct effects of most political issues but also don't have very high IQs. Should they just be restricted because they're not smart? No, because then you have people who don't understand the issues due to living happy smart upper class lives voting with effects to those lower class people.

All politically baseless assumptions and accusations belong on /pol/. /pol/ is not left or right.

Meme harder
>inb4 Charles II because he is literally the only fucking example you fags can ever find despite him being relatively competent

>Lower working class voters usually have the most context and the most knowledge of the direct effects of most political issues

IQ doesn't actually reflect how smart you are, it's like a human computer metric
look at all the highest IQ people they have some stupid fucking opinions

Oh please. If you're working with your hands then something went very wrong in your life, and since you clearly can't take care of your body or life, you're in no position to take care about a country or the well-being of millions of people.

It's pretty self-evident that working class people aren't fit to have any say in politics. If they knew what was good for them they'd rob me and my family blind with the help of democracy as soon as they got allowed to vote. Instead you'll find that working class people shun cooperation and communities, meaning they'll much rather attack each other than bother doing something that actual matters.

I mean think about it. If we had a working class person as the president of the United State, the first thing that would happen would be an embargo to the first country whose food he didn't like or something equally stupid.

What about this ?
Only people above a certain IQ can vote (120 is too high, 110 would be better).
But the electoral college is divided into ten groups based on income level, and each group has the same electoral weight.

So if the group with the highest median IQ has a million voters, all other groups have a million votes too and each voter in those has more than one vote.

...

>they'll much rather attack each other than bother doing something that actual matters.

But that is literally your whole post. A bunch of assumptions.

Democracy needs to run its course before it starts to actually work. There are countries where it's great already. The whole point of it is that it lets nations and people learn from their own experiences which is pretty much the only way to learn. If you don't want the plebs to vote bigoted dictators then you need to start pouring money into education above all things.

well-funded history classes

IQ tests don't stop people from: feeling superior, getting stuck in an echo chamber, being pandered to, being lied to.

Perfect example are people like OP () Many smart people despise Trump, but will happily go on voting for Hillary. The whole shitshow of American politics prove that IQ doesn't make you vote smart, because if it did no smart american would vote.

>Trump is EXACTLY like Shillary guize!!!! xD

bernie or bust!!!

>Lower working class voters usually have the most context and the most knowledge of the direct effects of most political issues

>If you don't want the plebs to vote bigoted dictators then you need to start pouring money into education above all things.
This. The masses need to be educated on how governments work and how things happen and happened in the past. And children need to be taught by early ages to ask "How?" and "Why?" because those populists are always promising shitty fairy tale things and the plebs believe it because it sounds good.

Jesus Christ are you a douchebag if this isn't bait. Literally everyone you know hates you behind your back.

Ah, the Bernie supporters. The only voters more retarded than the Trump supporters.

...

Your preferred political movement is shit. SHIT.

Alright so IQ wouldn't work as a way to filter out the bad votes.Letting everyone vote clearly doesn't work, so any other suggestions?

Just allow voting to rich people and rich people only. You can't be rich without being smart. Problem is solved.

Weighted voting based on level of education, and current employment level.

"Liberty ain't free"
-John Stuart Mill

Voting based on capital wouldn't work. There would be no one to look out for the poor people.
Education level might be the best option.

dictatorship with yourself in charge

>You can't be rich without being smart.
What is inheritance? What is a stupid bitch marrying a rich man?

>Education level might be the best option.

Should the cut off be a two year degree or a four year?

In this day and age you will just be assassinated if you try to set up a dictatorship. If not by foreign intelligence then by your political opposition or rebels.

4 year, nearly anyone can qualify for a 2 year 'degree' from a college, University education is the real standard, though perhaps the 2 year degree could at least have some sort of weighting but less than a 4 year degree.

I would say a high school diploma should be sufficient.

>Education level might be the best option.
But then it isn't a democracy anymore, simply raising the general level of education would be more than enough

Stop creating low IQ bigoted plebs to vote in the next Hitler
So basically never because that's not compatible with the military industrial complex nor rampant corporatism

>Complain about main candidates because they are dishonest corporate shills
>ANY ALTERNATIVE IS GAY AND STUPID

I'm no Berniefag or even American but idiots like you do the least to even influence politics. At least a large enough Bernie following would shift the posts.

Why would we limit ourselves to democracy when deciding the best way to rule a state? And besides, how can you raise the general level of education if your party isn't in control of the country?

>University education is the real standard
I've met enough graduates from America to know it is no fucking standard to base your government on.

>You can't be rich without being smart
This delusional shit is really the main problem with out country.

>current employment level
Fucking stupid. That would turn into a plutocracy pretty quick and if you think control by the wealthy is a good idea have a think about the banks in 2008.

>in this day and age
And what happened to Julius when he did? Assassination is the risk in any "day and age".

Political power follows cycles, and dictators usually follow democracies when the voting citizenry start getting angry and distrustful of each other. It happened in Rome, Julius was barely cold when the big guys were fighting for control, because they could not go back to he republic. They had a taste for power.

Smart people are just as fucked when it comes to running the world. They assume the world can be remade into any shape, and are happy to pursue such things intellectually even if it results in gigantic human cost and there's little evidence to suggest the changes necessary take.

But all education isn't worth the same. A degree in architecture doesn't mean you're good at drawing plans for a better society.
And a graduate in psychology will tend to limit his understanding of social issues to aspects that fit or pertain to his professional field. Same for law, etc.

We would need a degree in citizenry... That covers all the relevant fields of knowledge, and it should be free and accommodating to workers of all kinds.
>Stop creating...
Not a bad idea. Eugenics are underrated.

>Lower working class voters usually have the most context and the most knowledge of the direct effects of most political issues but also don't have very high IQs.
>but also don't have very high IQs.
Could you be any more elitist?

>How do we stop low IQ bigoted plebs voting in Dictators to power?
This topic is about democracy, commie

But user, that's undemocratic

He has a point. When only idiots run for office and they refuse to make changes that might diminish their power are we even living in a democracy? No, leaders cling to power and usually get more of it.

This scenario repeats itself throughout history, it either ends in tyranny or revolution.

aristocracy
>and when that goes to shit
monarchy
>and when that goes to shit
democracy
and so on and so forth
shniff

You forgot timocracy, oligarchy and tyranny faggot

Abstaining from brainwashing, lies, and propaganda which all serve to lower one's critical thinking capabilities to rationalize the shit they've been forced to eat is not the same as eugenics

>everything's shit but let's just keep breeding and encouraging more football frat boys who serve and become useless bouncers, officers, or PTSD drug addicts and see what happens

I'm quoting America

sorry babe

>oh boy look at all those middle east dictators keeping the middle east together
>better kill them!
>middle east collapses
>good job guys mission accomplished
w e w

We cant, plebs get brainwashed easily and thats unstoppable.

Get out of the EU

trump is at best an extreme populist centrist.
fuck off with your baseless political complaints

I'd rather have voters be autistic than literally mentally retarded

Simply coming to the realization that humanity will never achieve anything resembling perfection or utopia, yet at the same time realize we are durable enough as a species to survive a majority of our stupid mistakes. You can't fix us, just realize we are gonna keep soldiering on through the centuries with nothing getting better or worse in the long run.

Everyone with an IQ over 105 would realize that Hillary is just manipulating the masses with her "muh women and black people" charade. She's a power hawk, who got caught being involved in causing/supporting a civil war in Syria. She doesn't care about the people, she cares about the state and how much it can benefit her and her clique.

Oh, but this is ok because the patriarchy or something.

You guys are all so fucking dumb. You don't have to be smart to cast a good vote, you just have to be aware is the impacts of each politicians policies. All you have to do it implement a small quiz on the ballot about the politicians to make sure that people are making an educated vote. If a person has no understanding of the current political situation his vote is discarded.

don't let them gather
inbreds, braindead retards and common dumb people aren't dangerous as individuals, the problem is they usually gather and form masses or mobs when populism calls for them.

so you either stop them from breeding more than twice or you don't let them speak to each other since that's the easiest way to spread stupidity.

this could also be a good idea; but some kind of cultural test should also apply.

it's called choosing the lesser of two evils.
people don't vote for hillary, they vote against trump.

>Education level might be the best option.
lel no.
you can buy education and that's usually how it works - you can be a dumb rock but if you papa has the money you can buy your way in and out of any school - with honors.

If your democratic system breeds dictators then it's a shitty system

This. Everything else is cancer.

Have you considered moving to Germany? I hear they consider gold a valuable commodity like yourself.

Philosopher Kings

> extreme centrist
What does this even means?

you stupid? i'm criticizing anybody who equates hillary to trump. a lot or them are bernie supporters

I've always thought Trump was a false flag shilling for Queen Hillary. I mean, follow the money.

Then again everyone calls me cuh-razy when I say that. So w/e.

This election has been horrible. Our best candidate is a naive elderly socialist who might get eaten alive by White House politics, and the other two options are corrupt government nepotism, and corrupt corporate cronyism.

the only correct answer

Simple. Ask the voters a couple of multiple choice questions on the candidates' policy before voting. This would disqualify 70% of the American voters. Good luck with leaking answers, though.

>against autocracy
>wants to limit voter's rights

TYPICAL PHONEPOSTERS

kill them. duh.

The fact that Bernie got massive attention yet Jill Stein has been running on more or less the same issues for quite some time now highlights just how ridiculous the American two-party system is.

always get stabbed

Education.

High quality education that teaches kids about history, politics and economics while emphasizing critical thinking over blindly accepting biased narratives.

Also don't let the state go bankrupt.

Absolutely. I've been trying to convince most Bernie-ites that Jill Stein is a far more viable option than Sanders, but there's always that "I would but we can't rally enough people" argument to contend with.

It's Machiavellian, and born of social utility, on one hand, but highly frustrating on the other.

>This election has been horrible
It is a strong trend user. It reflects some deep unrest in the country.

Something has to give in the next few years and I somehow dont think it will be a shift to liberal socialism considering the history of the US. The more ridiculous the presidency gets the more space is opened up for other ideologies (read: corporate power)

The problem is the reactionaries always want this to be a matter of states rights so they can indoctrinate kids with local biases, while claiming higher standards and actual up-to-date information is "liberal indoctrination."

This doesn't just come down to humanities curricula, but also science and math. See the reactionary plebes hating on common core because they're afraid of their kids intuitively understanding math and coming home with work the parents embarrassingly can't solve. Not to mention the never ending debate between the so-called "evolutionists" (by which they mean modern science) and the creationists.

Fuck this cuntry.

Aye but then the power of decision is with whoever asks the questions.

Fix your universities first, they are a fucking joke in most fields outside of empirical sciences.

People don't know the answers to the simplest of questions.

youtube.com/watch?v=SeJbOU4nmHQ

Obfuscating important issues and political differences for the sake of maintaining the two-party system and its various interests.

...

1000 questions. Randomly shuffle 10.

Why stop it? Let history take its course and our ideas of how to run government will slowly become more refined over time, one bloody dictator after another.

Dialectic, man.

>Oh please. If you're working with your hands then something went very wrong in your life

You do realize that our infrastructure doesn't maintain itself and that until automation takes care of everything (and even then, we'll still need engineers, repairmen, programmers, etc.) there will always be a demand for manual labor, and that even if everyone in this country did "the right thing" and pursued some college degree, that there would be an over-saturation of many job markets and that many of those people with degrees would have to resort to manual labor.

My dad has an MBA in accounting and still has to do manual labor when it's not tax season. Get off your high horse, Argyle.

Him being president would hardly do anything.
Presidents don't have that much power

An extended circlejerk has never solved anything. A minimal amount of outside stimulus is needed to change a broken country.

Yes and no.

While Americans over-prioritize national elections and ignore local elections to their own peril, and while presidents aren't exactly all-powerful dictators, and while Trump would never be able to deport 20 million immigrants or make Mexico pay for a 20 billion dollar wall, he does represent us internationally, and his presidency would be an embarrassing 4-8 year reality show.

Is Trump the guy you really want sitting down with Putin, Kim Jong Un, the Arab nations, etc.?

Not that I like the alternative either.
