Traitors

Greatest traitors in history thread

Bonus if they got off scot-free

cromwell? he did fairly alright for himself

What makes you think Dreyfus was guilty?

At this point claiming Dreyfus was guilty is a massive meme, almost /pol/-tier.

Shit thread.

>Circumstantial evidence points to Dreyfus as someone isolated from French society.
>Abundance of evidence against him which conveniently all happen to be forgeries
>supported by those who gain from destabilizing the French Army & State (Germans, British, Socialists, Anarchists, etc.)
>one of his leading proponents later admitted to taking millions of francs from an international Jewish organization known as the Syndicate

I could go on, but each one of these alone is a good enough reason to mark him as guilty. Besides, a true Frenchman loyal to his country would have plead guilty in order to prevent the ensuing social unrest. Pleading not guilty was a gimmick designed to prolong the unrest of domestic powers and increase the strength of foreign powers in French sovereignty.

I almost feel bad for Benedict Arnold, he just wanted respect for his success but at the same time he didn't need to be so whiny about it

wut

all the evidence against dreyfus was exposed as forgeries and the person who did it an heroed. the actual spy also confessed on his own volition. dreyfus was also no "isolated from French society." he was from a rich jewish family that was highly assimilated

he was recognized once he was promoted to Brigadier General (Even though Granny Gates tried to prevent it) but the inner oligarchy of the near by city he was incharge of played politics and forced Washington to send a verbal reprimand which pushed him over the edge. After that he became a failed businessman in England and died of disease in 1801. If he died in Saratoga he would have been one of the most well praised heroes of the War. Such a pity.

George Washington

He hardly counts anyway, since by going over to the british he STOPPED being a traitor

Just because Henry committed suicide doesn't mean he was he guilty one. He likely committed suicide in order to avoid witnessing the shame and dishonour of his beloved army and country he fought so hard to defend from traitors.

Any other confession was likely coerced by Dreyfusard elements in French society trying to frame innocent men to get "their guy" free. Something like an opposite of the OJ Simpson trial.

It is said that Dreyfus didn't get along well with his fellow officers, also when he was put on trial he was cold and aloof.

>A ring of military elites conspired to frame a random person for a crime that didn't need a fall guy

That makes no sense instead of some rich fuck getting caught buying off some judges after he thought the public stopped caring. You read about it now and they just hand way everything as anti-semitism

Edgy

Has there ever been an Itachi Uchiha in history?

Someone who betrayed his own people under an agreement with the powers that be to take the fall of preventing a war or coup d'tat?

No, objectively true, Washington objectively committed treason. The OP, on the other hand, is just edgy.

Pretty interesting guy 2bh considering that he was once a left-wing member of the KMT who Chiang Kai-Shek tried to have assassinated.

>Abundance of evidence against him which conveniently all happen to be forgeries
>All the evidence being a forgery is evidence it's true.

I have a bridge I could sell you.

IT'S THE JEWS MANNNN

Fascinating life desu.

He was completely right though since the war with japan destroyed the KMT. Chiang should have just joined the axis and signed the anti-comitern pact when it was offered
