Am I the only one who thinks combat/hiking ankle lace up boots look bulky, clumsy, laughable and not agressive at all? What's with their 'agressive' image amongst most subcultures? Oh come on, even plain black oldschool chelsea boots look much more 'evil'. Perhaps people don't realise that in real life humans look at their shoes from a distance of almost two meters, and all you can see from this perspective is a pair of fat black toads on your feet.

not winter boots, but i got these for fall anyway

>inb4 timberlands 6inch
Okay we'll just do 8 inch in that case

i like the look of martens but they dont have any fabric inside to keep foot warmer and in my area it gets pretty cold during winter so i have to look for something else

they nice, what are those

to buy or not to buy

its really hard for me to imagine buying shoes in hm

always though the same thing until i bought a pair of boots last week from there.
The boot looks nice but the material isnt the greatest

Those are SFBs

w2c?

This. Saw them in "There Will be Blood" and I fell in love with them

uspatriottactical.com/corcoran-jump-boots-10-inch-historic-leather-brown/

This is also on amazon. Trade out the laces and you're a bit closer, though they don't have the same height. There's a post on reddit about a guy dyeing them darker and changing the toe box I think.

Search for paratrooper boots or jump boots.

I like them but I don't know what I would wear something like that with. Maybe when pheasant hunting on my estate in the British countryside. Cool boots though.

Ankle lace up boots tend to have an aggressive image, because they are used in combat you fucking retard. Martens are a bad example, because they're not as practical as your average combat boot, but they look the part and were a staple of the working class in Britain when skins and punks were an emerging subculture. They were also terrific beaters at that time, because they were made with labor in mind.

Chelseas on the other hand were the boot of choice of the average toff nu-dandy and eventually the more flamboyant rockers adopted them.

>toff nu-dandy

speak american you pussy

Objectively, timberlands are the only winter boot.

I have a pair of Corcoran Jump Boots, these are definitely taller, and they have those little buckles at the top.

Nike SFB

the silhouette isnt as disgusting as other sfbs ive seen

Is it good or too gay?

theyre the older model, the one thats $140 on the website rather than $150

Are Sorel Caribous a good buy?
I used to have a pair when I was a child and enjoyed them, but I'm concerned whether the quality has declined since Columbia bought the company and shifted production to Asia.

> too gay
nigga you on the wrong board

these wouldn't be gay if they didn't have that unnatural gloss

These are in the mail. Tejas winter doesn't get cold enough to warrant really warm boots

>old sfbs

these are terrible because the soles freeze in sub 0 temps
they have zero traction despite the tread pattern

then again if you live in some country with a "winter" that doesn't get snow you should be fine

...

apart from tims, what are some comfy winter boots? at this point i don't really care about silhouette

Awful, zips on low boots just look bad, the flat laces look awful, and the sole is weird, in a bad way

they look better

Just get timbs

Breddy good 5/5

What are they?

What do you guys think about moderately thick woolen socks over jeans? Btw those are timberlands 6inch :^)

Does anyone here knows about the quality of Kiomi or Zign? I came across them on Zalando. Is the quality good enough?
What about Doc Martens and Harley Davidson?
Want something that will last me atleast 2 years.

Ugly

The Zalando shoes are 1mm thick leather and the soles are like toy rubber. You will laugh at them when you compare them to real boots.

They will last the two winters if you use show cream very often and oli few times a winter. But they will deep down be shit.
But a good shoe if you can manage to get them for 50-70 euros, not worth more. But perfect if you are young but think, buy good boots once or buy few shitty zalando boots. I would skip the zalando, but hey they lasted me two winters.

Retarded

Numale

Just get oxfords

Then why aren't they insulated?

Equestrian core

If you're boots aren't black, pull on, at least 8 inches tall just fuck off and be a cuck somewhere else

What good shoes would you recommend me?
Do you think Doc Martens or Harley Davidson are good?
And I wear boots all year long. So I am not looking to buy the thick ones or the wooly ones.

>asking for 8 inch black shafts
>calling others cucks
Go be a butthurt cityslicker somewhere else.

With Harleys you get zalando quality and pay for the brand, Martens are shitty made in china nowadays but if you like the style they work just fine as a all around boot. Look up Solovair, they are the original made in UK Martens, maybe a little pricier.

superior boots coming through
step aside, kiddos

Someone fill me up on the tassels on this kind of boots.

I love them so much.
Comfiest, warmest shoes I've owned so far.

Not waterproof though (perforated for ventilation), and that's a huge bummer.

boots*

Docs are shit because their clunky shilouette is only good for one particular look. In the USA they are associated with stolen valor, school shooters, alt right etc and for good reason. They are the go to urban combat boot yes they are good for walking around sidewalks and pairing with jnco Jeans that's about it. If you don't want thick/clunky just don't.

Harley Davidson boots are made in China out of dog leather.

Grail boot checklist:

>made in Italy, Spain, USA, or bespoke
>made out of cow not horse goat lizard stingray or dog
>leather should be the kind that you can scratch lightly with fingernail leaving a mark that rubs out
>this kind of leather can be moisturized/shined and waterproofed and lasts forever without creasing
>the toe box should resemble an Oxford shoe no square or "king toe"
>heel should be under 1 1/2 inch
>no laces unless they are work boots exclusively if you want laces just get Oxford's or Derby's way easier and less expensive plus your pants will cover them anyway and everyone will think you're wearing Oxford's
>acceptable colors are black and dark brown that can be polished with cordovan/dark polish

That being said these kinds of boots start at 400 and up to 1500. Redwing #1178 are a good starting point. Made to order and most expensive red wings however if you get into the $700-1000 range like Ralph Lauren or Gucci the silhouette will be much slimmer/neat

danner u fucking fags

Thoughts?

>hybrid shoe
Naw man.

you sound like a fucking pussy lmao. go bite the fucking curb

hm is shit quality for boots

I have the canvas ones and they fucking rock. They're basically fancier and more comfy chucks.

I bought a black arctyrex parka and want some boots to go with it.

What's a good pair of versatile boots?

I have timbs because I'm a faggot.

Thanks anons for your help. I will keep that in mind.

anyone seen these irl?

Is this boot made in china?
Post boots that arent made in bangladesh/china/sea.

Okay so I have a pair of these (pic related)

And my jeans also fit pretty much exactly like this picture. Now the thing is, it looks fairly lazy, and I was thinking of getting a pair of tapered jeans so that the jeans sit a bit higher up on the boot, making for a cleaner look.

Thoughts? Or is wearing them like this perfectly fine? I think it looks a tad weird and like I'm decades older than I actually am.

Have a pair of black leather boots by HM. I think premium quality line. They lasted me two years. Still have them. But they are a bit creaky. Got them on sale for like 20 USD.

Cuff them up once if you think it looks weird without. The way you're doing it is fine.

honestly I'm not sure how to make boots like that look good unless you're cuffing them hard like someone on mfa

Cuff 'em and it doesn't hurt to try some tapered jeans.

Getting them for a 0 to -20 C winter. What do you think senpai?

w2c? name?

solovair u daft cunt

you could ask him on tumblr

I really really like my insulated Palladiums

I must say I like my quads aswell

2nd this. I have the og's but I love em to death. By far the easiest boot I have to make fits with. Can be implemented in a quality fit or just with a band tee

REEEEE Your socks aren't mean to be seen !

Thoughts?

That's CP, idiot

so?

Cop?

I'm going to buy solovairs too. Yours look pretty good, can't find them in my country though. I could get pic rel, not sure about that yellow stitching.

I kind of wish yellow stitch wasn't so bright. I could get sol10s but they are too big imo.

these are so fucking ugly

why not just paint the stitching in black? just buy some leather paint or even permanent marker will do if you're cheap.

>red wing
>nu male
Lmao keep using them oxfords during the winter and not only ruin your shoes but also your feet fucking ingrate.

The only good boots in this thread are:

Holy fuck I'm actually retarded. Thanks Veeky Forumsm

>jgsgdavdfn

They're called a kiltie, google it

what did he mean by this

Wanna cop these as soon as I can afford

visvim grails

Just leave em as is, or cuff if you really want. I think people will start letting their jeans break on their shoes again soon.

Are these good dress boots?

Can anyone ID the boots in this pic please?

Rancourt & Co. Blake boots.

Why is Veeky Forums anti chukka?

Those are high-top sneakers, not boots.

fuck it

looks nice

You're a liar

Those are not chukkas.

Palladium boots are top comfy

I'm 100% sure that's what they are.

That tongue looks uncomfortable

I got these already in summer but I was stupid enough to order a UK 9 instead of US 9 so they were too big for me. If there was still a 8 I would buy them though. They look better than on photo's
