Probably not as interesting as it sounds

It seems like there are a lot of countries where wearing short shorts is just the normal thing to do, even the masculine thing to do, and then a lot where wearing short shorts makes you a massive fag.

In New Zealand 'stubbies' are considered pretty much heritage wear and people associate them with farmers and builders, I didn't realise Americans think shorts are for fags until a friend of mine went there to drive combine harvesters.
