i could never pull off the prep...

im just not man enough

Post yourself

Anywhere where I could get knit Cornell sweaters? I early decisioned there.

W2c nice needlepoint belts?

tuckernuck

hillflint

...

Stop posting GQ shit, it's not prep

i hate it when sweaters run that small, i think the idea of showing off your belt is kind of stupid. people will notice your belt one way or the other, no need to flash it.

it's both too short and too snug, it's actually pretty uncomfortable

b-but it has stripes therefore it's prep

Smathers and Branson, but I think that's a ribbon and cotton duck belt.

The Vineyard Vines Whale Oxford.
Unironically the best OCBD I have found. The fabric is substantial and well constructed, it has a good collar roll, and rarely wrinkles beyond a slight rumpled look. I was pleasantly shocked.

i actually like that oxford. Personally, I find a lot of their clothing patterns and bright colors a bit tacky, but I do own a couple of their polos and button-downs. J-crew is my go-to for most of my prep outfits.

SHITPOSTING IS HARAM

All of my shoes are English benchmade, I highly suggest the investment

What colors do I wear pink chinos with? I bought them on an impulse and I don't want it to go to waste

>benchmade shoes
>they're at least a full size too big
>vast heel gap

Light pink, like flamingo, or something darker? For a light hue I'd go green blazer, white OCBD, dark tie, regular tan or cigar loafers.

They are a darker pink, similar to pic related

These pretty much just look like Nantucket Reds, look up some pics of those in fits for inspo

Are there any /prep/ infographics or guides?

What haircuts are best for a prep style? Crew cuts/side parts/ivy leagues? Anything else?

that belt is inappropriate for his outfit and his posture sucks

this is the only one I saved so far; hope it helps.

i hate preppy fits but jesus christ this gets my dick hard

>What haircuts are best for a prep style?
>already knows there's a cut literally named Ivy League
>fails to put two and two together

all wrong

WHAT DO FALL / WINTER?

you man up and wear the same in fall/winter

not if you live in the east coast. Layering is the key to being prep during the colder seasons; wearing button-down or polo under a wool or cashmere pullover sweater (yes, you can wear a polo under a pullover so long as it matches.) and to top it off, a peacoat or a bomber to keep you warm. Other coats include L.L. Bean or Brook Brothers field coat

shirt under rugby shirt

what are some preppy online stores?

Am I heading in the right direction?

I also plan on picking up club collar shirts

yeah Veeky Forumsm if you buy expencive and benchmade shoes you should make sure they actually fit

...

...

Don't you dare buy that watch user

layer...

polo -> ocbd -> shetland sweater -> blazer -> barbour beaufort -> ll bean rain coat

putting an ocbd on over a polo?

now the ll bean raincoat might be a little over the top

80s prep

bump, so far I shop mostly from BB, jcrew and orvis

and ll bean

why

it's colorful and clean cut looking

it's disgusting unless you're part of a old-time barbershop quartet and even then its bad

preppies love heritage and authenticity. a mechanical watch movement is a must. quartz is not acceptable, especially not a faux bauhaus brand like DW.

Should I cop?

>caring about brand

it's still a sexy watch that will catch the eye

>>caring about brand
>
>it's still a sexy watch that will catch the eye

jesus do you even prep? preppies definitely care about brands. heritage and authenticity are valued significantly more than 'sexy and eye catching'

like, if that's your thing, fine, personal style and all that, but you are no longer preppy

this is why we need more menswear postes

you preps are so boring

cringe

VV is faux prep for kids who go to state schools

get the fuck out

...

nigga your ass look like a fucking pilgrim

w2c comfy crew neck sweater to wear over a collared shirt? how do i make sure the silhouette is good?

jpress
bb
ll bean
rl

crewneck shetlands are everywhere

>No show socks

Why tho

Oh good, he already tied a noose around his neck...

What are some good preppy sunglasses at a reasonable price?

clubmasters are cheap and look very 60s

clubmasters or wayfarers desu

W2C

>daniel shillington

Do yourself a favor and don't

Better off getting a damn Weekender instead

...

fuck off hippie scum

V bad my dude

Also bad

I don't get it how do so many of these guys just fuck this potentially good looking shit up?

because they are rich

why do you need to look good when you are already rich?

Lame boring try hard frodo core, shoes lool meh and dont fit you well.

Usedcarsalesman/10
Matildasdad/10

You fit here pretty well

...

Most basic belt out there, you can make it yourself or talk to someone who can do it for you.

Or look for a leather goods store, there's also that.

COCAINE

...

Prep is a mindset, now a fashion statement.

I'm tired of kids who don't go to expensive schools and unis drying to be prep.

t. rich because of dad's money

...

How many people on ivy league campuses actually dress prepay?
Early decision to Cornell, legacy admission as well

Very few. We've discussed this in other threads but scrutiny towards Ivy League schools' admission practices combined with liberalization means that most Ivies are really not any preppier than any other school with a low admission rate (as they are reluctant to let too many in). Actual rich boarding school kids largely go to places like Georgetown or various liberal arts colleges, from what I understand, though I'd bet any decent school has a small share of the prep school set.

Congrats on Cornell, by the way!

I didn't get accepted (yet) but I hope.i do desu

good luck user, I wish there was legacy for weill cornell's grad program. Submitting the app tomorrow for a Ph.D. program

+1

Even the rich people I know tend to stay away from prep, nowadays prep is generally bastardized by fratbros.

Presumptuous fuck

Everything those two said, along with the fact that the movement is absolute shit tier with how cheap it is, but the price of the watch doesn't reflect that

This x100000
People I know go "oh user you're so frat today" anytime I wear prep, and it's killing my enjoyment of dressing preppy.

If you're on Veeky Forums right now, you're probably not going to get accepted.

Have fun at community college!

Don't be a dick

For those of you leaning towards menswear, are l lapel pins like pic related effay?

best puffer vest under $100?

I bought one from Lands End that immediately broke, not gonna do that again

you look like every "clownish jew" character in all the Coen Brothers' movies

adds a nice bit of texture to the outfit, yea sure. I wouldn't go overboard and pair it with tie AND a kerchief for example.

Are L.L. Bean's bean boots the most prep boots for rainy fall/winter days?

Are chelsea boots acceptable for casual wear in the fall and winter?

Thinking about picking this up but I honestly don't know what I'd pair a light blue shirt with.

Anyone have any ideas or should I just go for a white club collar?

w2c bouffant girlfriend

Why are they all looking at that dudelet on the right with the awful posture? Is the implication supposed to be that they're impressed by his polo or some shit?

Yes but unless you're Prince Charles you should never wear more than one of a boutonniere, pin and handkerchief at any one time.

I guess prep rarely incorporates a pocket square, though, so you should be fine.

Wew I found an entire forum dedicated to prep
