Is there any point in getting a pair of 501s tapered? Why buy a pair of straight fit pants in the first place if you're only going to make them slimmer?

how do i get them to fit this well? they seem too look like denim tubes on me and i have to cuff them or else they eat my shoes

Because you're a small guy and they don't suit your legs. See that's the gag there's no such thing as slim fit! If you're a big guy then 501's will look slim on you but they'll look like giant tubes if you're skinny! Is any of this getting through to you? Buy the style that fits your body!
