the proper "fit" of clothes is determined by your local culture, there isnt an objective proper "fit" except maybe full skin tight body suit since it maintains the bodies silhouette

saying slim/skinny jeans are objectively better fit than looser jeans doesn't really make any sense, if I were to walk outside in skinny jeans people would tell me i have weird fitting jeans but if i did that in Europe no one would care.
