What does Veeky Forums think of blackjack as a legitimate side/primary income?

With a good table:
>single/double deck
>blackjack 3:2
>double after split

You can have some fair house odds?

don't expect counting to work, casinos will shuffle frequently and the dealers will watch you like a hawk

Craps has the best odds in the casino. Learn craps not this plebian tier blackjack normie bullshit.

roulette is better senpai

>this retard
>literally in every gambling thread

Kill yourself.

>not playing baccarat at $100 min tables at your local casino with all the other old baller asians, who then offer to marry their unsullied 24 y/o Asian goddess daughter to you in respect of your white genes and respect of asian customs

>not taking a trip to Japan and defeating the yakuza in a high stakes game of mahjong to become a millionaire

I would listen to your opinion but you're weaboo trash

Well, I'm comfortable with Blackjack.
I'm in Vegas almost monthly starting in July, would like to have fun making some money. I've never plaid much craps, but roulette I know the "place a bet on 10 of the 12 columns" one.

Thoughts?

>not playing baccarat at $100 min tables at your local casino

wat?

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about.
Shuffling would have no effect on card counting. Unless they shuffle used cards back into the deck each round which no casino would ever do for any card game because no one would ever go to that casino because that is cheating. And it's not the dealer that would watch you its the floor manager. And what they would watch for is you betting pattern. If you bet minimum for 10 turns and then start betting 10x min bet they will tell you to leave. Its almost impossible to do alone. You need to have at least two people. One to play the broke and only betting minimum and counting. Then when the deck heats up you signal the baller to come and make high bets.
Its not a legitimate business but it does work if you don't get out of hand with it. Its not illegal but casinos have the right to ban you and take your winnings. The MIT blackjack team is the best example and the movie 21 was a poor misrepresentation of their success.

Continuous shuffle decks are really popular in machines now. They're cheap and keep the game moving, they're everywhere. Not that you'd have any trouble finding normal decks in Vegas. Also a lot of places don't let you buy in mid shoe now anyways to prevent this and stop other customers from getting pissed off when some retard buys in in the middle of a shoe when things are going well.

Anyways what's the point? Just get a real job. There's no real money in counting cards and if you were making real money you'd be blacklisted in a couple weeks.

I have a real job, the one that's sending me out there for a week a month. I just want to do something while I'm there.

they use 6-8 decks and they'll shuffle after going through 1 or 2. and yes the dealer will watch you, if you look like you're studying the entire tables cards intently it will tip them off

Play a game for table minimum and order as much alcohol as you can drink. If you tip your waitress even a dollar she will be back before your drink is done asking if you want another

Here is a bit of information for everyone in this thread.

Card counting is an expected part of your gambling experience in Las Vegas. Casinos are aware of it and don't really care now that they have approval to use multideck blackjack shoes.

Single deck blackjack games are like 5-10 max a hand now and just the same they are expecting you to count cards.

Nobody is going to go all Rain man in a Casino nowadays because they shuffle on every new hand and they know you will try to cheat so they just adjust the parameters so you still get your entertainment in and you get to feel like you are autism God.

Poker is additionally no longer positive EV in most Casinos because of the "rake tax".

You are in Nevada for fun. The only way you will make money is to sit in a Sportsbook/Racebook and make bets all day. Thanks to William Hill even this option is being narrowed and winnowed away until there will probably be no more money left to be made.

Become the house set the parameters and take in the cash. All the players are just rubes.

I agree that counting cards isn't worth it but you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

I do have a clue what I'm talking about. I live here. I talk to dealers, I talk to floor managers, I talk to valet, I talk to executives if they ever allow me their presence. It's called Gaming in the Nevada Revised Statues for a reason, they see us as game to be preyed upon. Maybe 5-20 years ago they gave a shit about card counters or card markers or people giving away tells but then they realized they could just take the high roller whales and put them off in a separate area while average idiots think that whatever math they may be crunching in their heads for a $50 pot is actually making a difference. The table games are going away and everybody knows it. They worry now more about dealers trying to take a piece because they are the ones who could actually do something but they will soon be more of an on demand thing like the live feed dealers that the online casinos use.

Every game in the casino has a house edge and that house edge is the profit for the casino. If someone started winning any significant amount from card counting, they would be asked to leave. No casino would let a card counter to eat into their profits. Gambling is already saturated in Vegas.

They do give a shit about card counters. I used to be a card dealer for a few years so I know. The casino is private property so they can ask you to cash in, leave, and blacklist you.

Odds are complete shit. If you want to gamble, start trading in the markets, if you get good you can make a lot of money.

Also, investing and looking into companies may help you if you ever want to start a business down the line.

>start trading in the markets

I'm looking into that, again though, I'll be there for a week a month for the forseeable future, so just getting thoughts.

>he thinks he can count 7 decks worth of cards

laffing

>It's called Gaming in the Nevada Revised Statues for a reason, they see us as game to be preyed upon
You're a fucking idiot. It's called gaming in most states because gambling is actually considered illegal per state law(see: Louisiana). It's more of a marketing thing than anything, but sure, keep on thinking you're a hotshot that's beat the system.

HI-LO system is a running count you turd.
