I'm doing a masters in Neuroscience... Not sure if this makes it Veeky Forums but a career in research gives you pretty limitless opportunities to travel. Infact i'm going to be spending two years in Japan as part of my PhD

>I love the irony is this one

Law school. Currently doing International & European Master

>career in research gives you pretty limitless opportunities to travel.

Why is that? Please explain this sounds interesting

Well my current degree is meant to be a bit of a feeder to a PhD so it's largely treated as a one year taster. I work in an offices with 5 different lab groups and all the Post-docs are constantly going away. I'm based in the UK and people are always going to Japan, America, Singapore and Germany. You're pretty marketable in science too considering pretty much all discoveries are published in english so English is the general language of research

Adding on to bits i left out in The hours are pretty bad though. I get in at 8:30 am and I rarely finish my experiments until 7pm. And the pay isn't good either until can progress from being a post-doc (can take up to 10 years). But I love what I do which is more important than anything I feel

Law school

English and Law Degrees

t. CS Student

Any degree that lets you fuck around for a few years before going back to manage your family's money.

Art history, literature, philosophy or fine arts basically.

Clueless. Economics job market is terrible.

Veeky Forums but a terrible idea with the current job market

Not true, many high end corporate bankers I know got a joke fine arts degree from decent university then got a MS in finance and now make several hundred thousand per year. Finance is a good degree, best of business with accounting.

I did my PhD in the UK in science and got to travel to the US, Japan, Germany and Italy during it. Now I'm a post-doc in Japan and have travelled from there to Italy, Australia, South Korea and China. Science PhDs and post-docs really do let you travel a lot if you choose the right group to do it in. On the other hand, a friend of mine did his at CERN and said that he never got to travel because his boss would always go and present the results at conferences. So it really is important to choose a group that will allow you to travel.

Mathematics, philosophy, physics and architecture are the most Veeky Forums.

Dipshit, the money is in statistics not economics.

Physics is not Veeky Forums, but the rest of those are Veeky Forums.

People in actual finance roles are slowly but clearly becoming disillusioned with the economics field in general. It's more and more common to hear that professional economists and economics professors are useless fucking idiots in general. Do anything else if you want to be good at your job since I assume you have no interest in actually being an economist and just want to work in business.

But being a useless idiot is pretty Veeky Forums on the other hand.

>Not true, many high end corporate bankers I know got a joke fine arts degree from decent university then got a MS in finance and now make several hundred thousand per year. Finance is a good degree, best of business with accounting.
This is actually true. My favorite economics writer go his degree studying music then studied economics as a graduate student before working at Chase Manhattan. He has a much different perspective than other economists and is one of the most well read in the field.

Thinking about going to school to study English then getting myself a law degree. How's that sound

Also I have both an aunt and an uncle who will be partners at law firms by the time I would graduate, so the job market doesn't scare me.

Fine if you already know lawyers or are getting published. Try getting your work into magazines, newspapers, and journals before applying to law school.

Ivy League libarts before getting your six+ figures job in a Fortune 500 company thanks to family connections

If you're proletariat scum, jobs that show you're making an effort to escape the dregs of society so that your kids have a chance of being real people are the best

economics is a cant go wrong tier degree

might a well drop out of highschool with those degrees

why is this thread even here its just a bunch of fags trying to get approval of their current degree they are trying to get

you fucking cucks have taken this meme way too far.

Classics

Architecture is the most effay degree, hands down.

That greentexting is so badly executed I want to choke you to death with an asos choker.

How are you eligible to study economics if you've done a fine arts degree?

this

no, because you will have to be very lucky (and talented) to even create the things you desire to design.
I know someone who is an architect who designs big manors/countryhouses/villa's and its like winning the lotery
You'll probally end up at some shitty workplace where you design a fucking shed or go into a other modeling type of work.

this goes for almost every "effay" job/study.
take a realistic study, and do that other shit in your spare time.

Is History Veeky Forums?

It involves a lot of reading, and a lot of independent work (essays and reading). People on the course tend to be laid back and care free.

"Laid back and care free" is codeword for dirty, unkempt left-wing hippies whose life will amount to nothing besides being useful idiots for causes they do not understand.

It's not some place you can be Veeky Forums, generally speaking.
