Is England an American colony?

No. Hawaii and Guam are examples of US colonies.

But Engand is also an island heavily influenced (to the point of colonization) by US culture in the same way. The entire premise of the "Special Relationship" revolves around this influence.

But we don't land a bunch of military there and exert political control, sending masses of colonists which declare land rights and appeal to the invading central government.

>land a bunch of military there
But we did. Remember the last world war? and militarybases.com/united-kingdom/
>exert political control
Isn't that what we're doing to this day?
>sending masses of colonists which declare land rights and appeal to the invading central government
We don't need it, we've found more subtle ways to make it a colony. Look at foreign and even domestic policy, England is in US pockets, from Churchill to Thacher to Blair to now.

Trying to colonize other places is paramount to an act of war, which the indigenous people are powerless to stop. Cultural infestation isn't the same thing.

You're reaching.

No, it's a German colony.

A long time ago, parts of it were Saxon colonies, and Roman colonies, and Norse colonies. Try to colonize it today, you'll have a sizable number of people show up with guns, saying, "hi, wut r u doing"

>not understanding the difference between Germans and Germanics

Saxons were german

No they weren't.

Is this currently the single dumbest thread on Veeky Forums?

Probably. The competition is close though.

>Try to colonize it today, you'll have a sizable number of people show up with guns, saying, "hi, wut r u doing"

Seems like the colonists are doing that instead.

Just fuck off to /int/ already

>But Engand is also an island heavily influenced (to the point of colonization) by US culture in the same way.

Are you joking?

This is probably the most delusional thing I've read on this entire board.

>Is England an Saudi colony?
yes

Are you some angry Englishman who can't stand the idea of being cucked by Murica?

Yes, they don't even speak a Celtic language anymore, of course they are an American colony, just use your brain,

America is not Saudi Arabistan

It's called the US cultural empire.
The UK isn't a colony of the US any more than Japan, Germany, or Canada is.
It's the cultural and political pressure that the US exerts that pushes them towards good relations.
Defining modern situations with rigid labels of the past is absurd. Things are a lot different now than in the 18th century. Terminology to describe relationships between nations changes as well.

It was in the 80's and early 2000's.

America is the dominate power in the cultural & geopolitical sphere known as the "west".

In this way Britain has a subordinate relationship to America, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them a 'colony'.
