Some companies actually make potential employees go through IQ tests. Difference is that they know their tests aren't some online bullshit that gives everyone 130+ so they can sell you some worthless certificate.

I don't keep up with the actual science, but as far as I remember, IQ really only has proof of concept in being a correlation factor for economic outcomes and mental disorders.

Do something cool that will count as an achievement worth mentioning on your resume that SHOWS how smart you are. Nobody believes you if you just say you are smart in fact most people who say they are smart, are not. Showing off your arbitrary number will be seen as autistic, even if it does actually have some valid bearing on your effectiveness as a person and employee. Get into a hobby that you like and maybe contribute to that community in some way or make a small business out of it. If you're involved in lots of shit and have all kinds of cool stories about projects you've worked on and problems you've solved, that's how you're going to impress people and convince them of your value.

It's not about actually being socially inept, it's just that they are either lying about something nobody can disprove, or that they don't have any other qualities to talk about. if they spent a lot of time around problems that resemble what you see on an IQ test, they'll score higher but doesn't reflect their inherent ability to solve those problems anymore. and most of the people here who get "high" IQ scores are just taking some sample online.

there's still a time and place to talk about your IQ but you can be sure if someone is opening up with that shit they aren't just socially inept because it would only happen once in their lives and they'd see it doesn't work. it means they are mentally challenged and trying to escape that hell.

You're implying a 1:1 causal link. IQ doesn't determine outcome. Intelligence allows you to bypass some of the struggles that dumber people deal with, but it's not a linear slope. I would guarantee you it levels off after 130 or so. Geniuses aren't guaranteed any greater success than the moderately smart. And neither do as well as the charismatic ambitious guy with IQ of 110.

low iq is associated with poor assessment and over-avoidance of risks, poor life and financial choices and so on. also the less intelligent you are the more likely you use violence to solve your issues or get rid of frustration.
high iq is only really useful if it coincides with a creative personality tho. there is also a bit of a problem with the iq score as it only measures a part of intelligence. for example i don't have a particularly high iq but easily outperform many colleagues who do. mine was measured around 125 i think. and the majority of the tests are all about pattern recognition many of the test types can be easily practiced so you perform better at the specific tests. some lexical knowledge. creativity and analytic mind has zero correlation to the test scores.
