this is a guy who demands complete control over every aspect of the brand though. I doubt he'd get that at a brand thats similarly sprawling and disjointed like CK, even with his impeccable record of success.

That's true. I remember how poorly people took it when he renamed YSL. I thought he cooperated pretty well with Dior Homme though

I never understood why people got so upset about him doing that. He is single handedly responsible for reopening the house's couture line under the YSL name and the renaming was solely to separate RTW and couture.

He knows the YSL archives and Yves work as well as anybody and alluded to it regularly, yet was constantly lambasted for not being true to the brands legacy, whatever that means. And now Vacarello plasters YSL logos onto sleazy clothes and people say hes putting the Yves back in Saint Laurent and other inane shit.
